Archie Panjabi In Carolina Herrera – 39th International Emmy Awards

Archie Panjabi joined Lady Gaga on the red carpet for the 39th International Emmy Awards which were held in New York City last night.

You could’ve knocked me down with a feather when I saw the talented actress in this Carolina Herrera gown.

I’m so used to seeing Archie wearing black, navy or chocolate brown that I’m shocked she selected this dusty pink silk organza strapless embroidered gown with matching bolero.

Whilst I love the contrasting details around the waist, I wish it wasn’t a bow. A simple grosgrain band would’ve been preferred.

Archie seems to be really enjoying herself on the red carpet; this is evident in her attention to her hair and makeup.

i would give anything for her to remove that bolero:)

She looks nice, nothing special. Minus all the extra pieces (shrug & black accent) it would’ve looked great.

FC, doesn’t the gown look like Fan’s Atlier Versace pink gown at Cannes?

      yes, it is similar

What the HELL! My favourite Kalinda looks so frumpy and wilted.

It’s just too busy-the layers, the bolero, the black waist element. The only way I see it getting better is by wearing something else

adore her, adore her in this dress and this colour (wish the bow was a grosgrain band as well)

I hate the bolero. It’s very “mother of the bride”. It’s a look for an older lady. Without it she’d look more fresh and youthful.

I am neither a huge bow fan (on this dress) nor a huge bolera fan, but it is a greta look. The airiness of the dress is wonderful whilst maintaining structure. The hair and makeup is also divine. It’s becoming difficult to remember her in bend it like beckham!

this made me think of the lacroix dress dita wore a few years ago. the dress is beautiful including the bow, but the bolera made it look like she is attending a wedding and not an award show.

    I think she looks lovely.

*SQUEALS* She looks lovely!! I, too, wish the belt didn’t have a bow, but it almost doesn’t matter.

I don’t mind the bolero, but the bow is too much. I agree with FC, a simple ribbon would have been enough.

      I agree too.

hmmm love the colour on her, and the dress is nice….it just looks a bit big on her? it could be due to all the layers, but the hips/midriff especially look bunched up and ill-fitting

Adore her. Appreciate the effort. Dislike the overwrought dress.

    • Rebecca Z November 22, 2011 at 17:03 #

+1–the word “overwrought” nails it. Imagine her in that color in a strapless column–that would be gorgeous

The bow and the bolero are a big no.

    • maria November 22, 2011 at 16:00 #

i agree. Plus i am not sure i like this colour on her.

    • Jones19 November 22, 2011 at 16:14 #

Skip the bolero and bow and we got a winner.

      • Leti November 22, 2011 at 17:56 #

+1 There’s just a little too much going on here, and it’s overwhelming. Maybe even the hair should have been more streamlined.

Agreed… this is a very busy dress without adding those two accents. I would love to see the dress on it’s own .. I also agree with Leti… this dress should be the star of the show and updo would tone it all down and let the dress speak for itself.
