Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge was out doing exactly what I was doing this weekend: shopping at Zara.
But I very much doubt we purchased the same things.
Catherine kept her look super simple as she strolled the high street in London on Saturday afternoon.
She may have been shopping at a Spanish retailer, but she was wearing a British brand: Mulberry.
Her black turtleneck was teamed with a Mulberry Polly Push Lock pleated skirt in a black wool blend with a herringbone stitch.
The skirt was teamed with knee-high boots and her favourite Mulberry ‘Polly Push Lock’ bag which we’ve seen her carry a few times before.

It’s almost exciting because she’s not wearing navy, beige or grey.
LOL
Yeah, it’s pretty sad when all black is a refreshing change. She looks good here, very nice skirt.
Nice little bag, loving her hair. The skirt is too girly for her. Missing a jacket/blazer here.
OMG!! @ the lady with her! I would have been too embarassed to go out like that let alone go somewhere with a paparazzi chased public figure who was surely going to have their picture taken. If seen demented old women with better style than this. Kate looks nice though.
I read that the women is her security guard which explains the clothes. She probably wanted to blend in with other people….lol
She looks cute. her hair is nice.
Love both the skirt and the bag, but the Duchess seriously needs to eat something. Look at those knees!
She looks lovely.
her legs are soooo thin in those boots
Too distracted by the silly gap between her hem and the top of the boots plus they make her legs look too thin. Either the skirt should be longer or the boots taller like over the knee – could that ever happen?
if michelle obama can pull off over-the-knee boots, then duchess kate most certainly can.
Over-the-knee boots with that skirt would be awesome! And very fashion-forward! (But I believe that would be asking too much of the Duchess……)
Cute skirt. I think it makes the outfit more youthful, which is something she needs. She usually looks a good ten years older than she actually is.
I love everything on this look. It may be all-black, but it’s really simple and elegant.
I was thinking the same things!
same here..
But the real question here is What did you buy? we want to know!
I really love Zara for the winter
I actually like this. She looks so much better when she isnt trying so hard and actually dresses like a women in her 20′s.
On another note, give the girl a sandwich! When your boots are too big on your calves, your too damn skinny!
Nice outfit – but the protection officer definitely needs a make-over! LOL.
Obviously Duchess doesn’t really nit-pick the fit on boots, because if she did, she’d go for some sleek designer ones that hugged her calves. They do make them….
FC, do tell us more about what you found at Zara!
just a few bits and pieces
i can’t wait to see her actually wear what she bought from zara! the curiosity is killing me!
while i tend to agree with couturecoco with regard to skirt length and boot height, i’m curious how she would look in this same outfit with one of those of-the-moment dusters.
cute winter street chic. i’ll take one of those skirts..
boring as usual.. the polly bag looks so much better on florence welch who wore it a few days ago (at heathrow airport ?)
This is my favorite Kate Middleton look! I don’t care for her clothes for public appearances, for they are for her job not her age. She dressed her age on this occasion, yet kept the look simple. I like her legs here. Yes, skinny but skinny is one type of real women as well. The legs reminded me of a girl in a 60s movies when leggings were in (think Charlotte Rampling, Ali MacGraw, Faye Dunaway, Francoise Hardy).
Eh, not that interesting, but better than most of her “official” wardrobe. I agree that she is too thin.
