Heidi Klum was flying solo on the red carpet at the 2011 American Music Awards which were held at the Nokia Theatre LA Live in California last night.
The ‘Project Runway’ host wore a Spring 2012 dress by British designer Giles Deacon.
Her silver laser-cut dress was teamed with navy-blue undergarments.
The runway model opted for red, but I wish Heidi had opted for a flesh colour to make this a true risqué look. On Heidi the look feels watered down.
Tousled waves, dramatic smoky eyes, nude lips and Nicholas Kirkwood python slingbacks completed her futuristic look.

This dress is quite simply fabulous. I prefer that she chose to wear the navy undergarments – I think to wear a flesh-toned bra and underpants would have given the look a tackiness which I don’t think Giles Deacon intended.
What MASSIVELY lets this look down for me, however, is Heidi’s hair. I don’t think that I have ever seen it looking this bad – I don’t see tousled, I see a semi-crimp and it hurts my eyes to look at it. Such a shame, given that I think from the neck down she looks fantastic.
i agree about the hair. It also looks like she has short bangs… BAD.
It’s interesting how you can wear a dress with cutouts showing your underwear, high heels and still look boring and matronly. Flabbergasting to me.
+2.
I really don’t know what’s happened to Heidi! This look is so plain! She has the most amazing figure, every designer would love to dress her so there is no excuse for this… I just expected more
ITA. The elements are all there for a great look but this is so off.
love the dress on the model, but dislike it on heidi, it loses all its playfulness.. her hair is terrible and make up too boring for such a dress
Ditto
I agree.
Boring . . .
Glad this collection is getting an airing on the red carpet, I loved it. However the blue underwear wasn’t the best choice
her shoes are too small
I hate what she’s doing with her eye makeup, but I like the dress.
i think dress is kind of different and beautiful with little art; not very my taste. but it doesnt look good on her, generally she looks good almost with everything. this dress is not an easy one imo.
Hiedi Klum always makes me yawn, but this is one of her better looks. I like that she’s toning it down a little.
I really like this on the model, but Heidi doesn’t sell it. I hesitate to say this but, I would like to have seen it on someone younger.
Her hair and make-up are just atrocious.
i think that heels is killing her look at the vains
This is an amazing dress. I don’t mind the colored undies but I agree, nude underwear would have worked too. Now to the nitty gritty… hair and make up not good. The hair is too casual and beachy and the eye make up too harsh for this look. Even with the cutouts this is still a modern twist on a very ladylike dress. I would have liked to have seen a much softer hairstyle and I like the very gurly make up look on the runway. The pink cheeks and lip make it very feminine and soft. For some reason the skirt on the runway also seems somewaht fuller…which I really like.
ewwww
Shoes are fabulous, but the dress does not suit for Heidi.
she looks gorgeos but maybe she should have worn a better bra – for the close ups
and i love the shoes
super cute
