Nicole Richie got into the holiday spirit early this year by hosting the Baby2Baby Partners with Huggies Santa Diaper Winter Wonderland event in Beverly Hills on Saturday evening.
The House of Harlow designer wore a Stella McCartney Spring 2012 long-sleeve knit and red satin skirt, paired with Salvatore Ferragamo houndstooth pumps.
Between the peplum skirt, monotone color choice and pop of houndstooth, Nicole did a fab job balancing a number of trends without looking overdone (simple hair and makeup definitely help).
This is the perfect look for just a hint of holiday cheer – it is only mid-November, afterall.

This seems spot-on appropriate for the event. I don’t love her hair, but that’s the way her hair almost always is…. it just works less well with something so classically “ladies who lunch” than it does with the more casual, modern young looks she usually wears.
totally agree. great look, great proportions, but the hair is a bit of a let down.
From head to pump point I love this look.
Works for me.
I don’t like her hair and I think this dress ages her.
I like it so much. Stella McCartney is one of my favorite designers, she definitely knows how to make a woman look feminine, classy and simple at the same time. I like the accessories, most of all the shoes. Sometimes I think that there should be two polls, one for the red carpets look, and one for other events where women wear daytime clothes.
I adore the hair and the make-up.
(although not excited much about it) Perfectly event-appropriate while still being on-trend.
Wonderful from head to toe. I’m loving all her recent choices lately.
Me too. Seems her style is evolving in a more elegant and grown up way.
I wonder what Paris Hilton is doing? I’ve a feeling I’d choose being appropriate & doing something good for others.
Her hair is tragic lately. And her new boobs are too big for her tiny frame. That being said, red really suits her.
She looks beautiful. I also love her styling! Perfection.
Where may I purchase this dress?
