Dasha Zhukova In Azzedine Alaïa – 2011 MOCA Gala

Dasha Zhukova was also present at the 2011 MOCA Gala in LA on Saturday evening.

The Russian philanthropist, entrepreneur, fashion designer and magazine editor looked stunning wearing an Azzedine Alaïa Fall 2011 Couture gown.

She selected this gown in rose pink which gave her a radiant glow.

Her scalloped gown with a tiered ruffled skirt was teamed with a gold clutch and a silver cocktail ring.

It’s rare to see Dasha wear makeup, but for this special occasion she opted for kohl-rimmed eyes and pretty pink lips.

Slightly back-combed hair completed her look.

amazing dress, but the hair and makeup look unpolished to me, so i cannot give it a BDOTW nomination.

      +1. Its killer in black.

      • Joy November 15, 2011 at 04:55 #

It is fabulous on the model in black. Putting the two pics together just makes me feel okay about it in the blush. For me the fit seems off too, maybe too long in the torso.

  2. mm November 14, 2011 at 18:44 #

Love the color of the dress. But her looks messy.

    • mm November 14, 2011 at 19:06 #

i meant her hair looks messy

  3. justme November 14, 2011 at 18:46 #

    BDOTW? Not with that hair.
I’m not a huge fan of the dress in nude to begin with but her hair just kills everything. It looks so greasy/unwashed, especially at the roots.

Exactly, the hair is hideous. It’s such a beautiful, elegant dress, and she has paired it with gym hair.

  4. Adrienne November 14, 2011 at 18:48 #

I’m really not into the hair. It looks very stringy at the ends.

  5. Nat39 November 14, 2011 at 18:50 #

Not working for me. The gown falls flat on her, the dramatic feel of it is lost on her entirely, the colour washes her out, and the “slightly combed” unwashed looking hair ruins it completely.

  6. Jones19 November 14, 2011 at 19:02 #

WOW what a gorgeous dress. I’m in love. I wish she had put more effort into her hair and makeup but wow this dress looks fantastic on her.

  7. Jacqu November 14, 2011 at 19:07 #

The hair’s a mess. Not worth for BDOTW.

  8. AW November 14, 2011 at 19:16 #

The hair is flat out disrespectful with such an amazing dress. MAJOR FAIL

    • TeaAtTwo November 14, 2011 at 19:56 #

lol at your comment. the hair is what I keep going back to, poor execution.

    • justme November 14, 2011 at 21:15 #

Dead @ flat out disrespectful. So true though.

    • lee November 14, 2011 at 22:12 #

HAHA. disrespectful = perfect word to use. but seriously. this dress deserves more.

  9. T November 14, 2011 at 19:16 #

This is the epitome of effortless chic. PLEASE put this up for BDOTW!!!

    • Linda November 14, 2011 at 19:45 #

Yes, please do! This is effortless, feminine elegance. All in all a lovely effect. BDOTW worthy for sure.

      • Sea November 14, 2011 at 22:10 #

+1! the hair doesn’t bother me at all! she carries it off so well!

      • aiyu November 15, 2011 at 00:29 #

        I agree, BDOTW. Effortless chic.

  10. Sabrina November 14, 2011 at 19:25 #

Great!! Can you post on Miroslava Duma????

  11. Lee November 14, 2011 at 19:32 #

I love the classic way Azzedine Alaia works. Dasha looks a little washed out. The black version looks knock out stunning.

  12. Jess November 14, 2011 at 19:41 #

the dress is great…..the grooming + mixing of metals is not.

  13. JacobGH November 14, 2011 at 19:49 #

The hair does not look messy to me? I love this look. Far superior to the Amy Adams look which FC already put forth for BDOTW in my opinion!

  14. anu November 14, 2011 at 19:57 #

i love it all! def. BDOTW… the hair, makeup, dress and color- love!

  15. Sam November 14, 2011 at 20:25 #

How chic is this. I think the hair adds to the beauty of the look, its a careful mess. Love it!!

  16. Emi November 14, 2011 at 20:50 #

  17. Yaas November 14, 2011 at 21:18 #

How effortless chic she looks. BDOTW imo.

  18. Laura Brice November 14, 2011 at 21:44 #

Agree the hair really lets her down on this one, very limp. Worse than Nicole Kidman last week, at least she attempted to do something with her mane.

  19. harris November 14, 2011 at 21:50 #

  20. ramsay November 14, 2011 at 22:28 #

    Definitely BDOTW-worthy!

  21. Amber November 15, 2011 at 00:25 #

Scraggly hair and poor make-up just make her look washed out and rushed. And the color of the dress doesn’t help either. The black would have been a better choice, but it doesn’t matter with the hair and make-up looking so tragic.

  22. Quinn November 15, 2011 at 00:42 #

  23. gurlygurl November 15, 2011 at 00:49 #

I actually prefer the pink dress to the black one but the hair and make up makes it impossible for me to see this as BDOTW worthy.

  24. Dhppy November 15, 2011 at 01:46 #

The color detracts a lot from the impact of the dress.

  25. Miguel November 15, 2011 at 06:30 #

Like everyone else i think the dress is perfection but her hair and make-up ruined the look (in my opinion)
Maybe if she pulled her hair back or an up-do would complement the dress

  26. glenn November 15, 2011 at 06:58 #

I like the color of the dress !!!

  27. ben November 15, 2011 at 08:30 #

  28. Gaber November 15, 2011 at 08:58 #

The dress has a completely different vibe in pink – while I think that a stricter hairstyle suits the black version, the pink one demands something much more flowing and romantic and as such, I think the hair fits the dress superbly.
While most likely not my choice for the BDOTW, it still deserves a nod on Friday.

  29. thebeautyphilosopher November 15, 2011 at 10:35 #

That dress is …. sublimely beautiful.

  30. oksana November 15, 2011 at 15:23 #

such a difficult dress to look good in it

  31. Dee November 15, 2011 at 16:06 #

I actually think that the hair and the makeup, along with the drop waist, give this a very 60s vibe. Yes, the hair could be a tad bit more voluminous, but I see it as a modern take on the 60s. BDOTW for me, yes.

  32. Alina November 15, 2011 at 18:18 #

    Yes, yes, yes.

  33. Shaina November 16, 2011 at 01:46 #

Definitely BDOTW for me, even with the hair.

  34. Raquel November 16, 2011 at 01:57 #

    BDOTW with this hair? Never.
