Camilla Belle In Gucci – LACMA’s Art and Film Gala

Camilla Belle joined a host of celebrities who attended the LACMA’s Art and Film Gala in LA yesterday evening.

I’m not at all surprised that she’s one of the first to don one of the flapper-esqe looks from the Gucci Spring 2012 collection.

Her gold, white and black drop-waist dress with art deco lines, and a fringed skirt was teamed with gold strappy Gucci sandals and a small black clutch.

This is a great look for Camilla. I’m really starting to appreciate her on the red carpet again.

She mixed up her retro look by opting for on-trend victory rolls.

      i agree. Divine!

    • dee November 7, 2011 at 14:22 #

      I agree. She looks sensational.

Lovely shoes, but there’s something about the dress that I don’t like, maybe the colors, they remind me a 70′s curtain of a relative of mine :-) I love hair and make up, instead. She always has a great make up!

    • Emily November 6, 2011 at 12:59 #

second that, I felt in love with those shoes as soon as i saw them but not so sure about the dress, would have been a lot better if we can actually see where her tiny waist was!

  3. Jess2 November 6, 2011 at 11:17 #

I like this look a lot with perfectly paired accessories, i love the shoes. I love the dress and the collection in general with the mixing of modern characteristics with 1920′s shapes. Camilla looks beautiful with a natual glow and I think she looks better in the dress than the model does

      +1

Not minding this look, but I wish that it were a little less fitted. I like how blockish and authentically 20s it looks on Natasha in the runway shot. I think I would have preferred it more if it were a little looser, but I understand that not everyone can pull that silhouette off.

  5. CreoleLady November 6, 2011 at 11:33 #

Kerry Washington, Naomi Watts and now Camilla, all working atypical silhouettes and fabrics. Am really enjoying these looks. Drooling over those strappy metallic heels…

  6. Pati November 6, 2011 at 11:52 #

I like this look, but the hair ruins it for me. It ages her big time and is too fuzzy with this look. Tight ponytail would work so much better…

    • f4fashion November 6, 2011 at 20:11 #

      Couldn’t agree more

      • gurlygurl November 7, 2011 at 00:28 #

The hair bothers me too… it really does age her. It looks untidy and has too much height. I love the dress and the shoes are divine. She looks bronzed and beautiful but I agree, a slick modern hairstyle would have given this outfit a different edge.

    Gorgeous!

  8. allie November 6, 2011 at 12:51 #

    Horrible

    • glenn November 6, 2011 at 17:40 #

      I agree allie

  9. igboz November 6, 2011 at 13:12 #

Evan Rachel Wood wore almost the same dress at the same event. LOL.

    • TeaAtTwo November 6, 2011 at 15:56 #

Just goggled it. I half like it, half feel the hair makes it look too costumey.

  10. The Dame November 6, 2011 at 13:33 #

Didnt Evan Rachel Wood wear a similar dress at this same event? Hers is all gold.

Besides, love this dress on Camille.

    • Rebecca Z November 6, 2011 at 17:47 #

Zoe also wore a dress from this collection at this event.

      • TeaAtTwo November 6, 2011 at 23:18 #

Zoe would have ROCKED this dress. The one she went with was nice but this one would have been perfect with her and make-up.

  11. TeaAtTwo November 6, 2011 at 13:43 #

On this occasion I would have preferred her to copy the runway hair and make up again. The dress needs the slick hair and dramatic make up to look it’s best.

When did you stopped not appreciating Camilla’s fashion. I just clicked on the name tag Camilla, and ive realized there hasn’t been a single mistep. Yes, she is always attending parties, but hey i bet is a good waay of earning some money, on her position i wouldn’t doubt it for a second, at least she is in a movie from time to time, not like Kim Kardashian, whos job is attending red carpets.
I think we have grown to expect perfection from Camilla, cause she always delivers perfection

  13. mikeijames November 6, 2011 at 14:14 #

she has NEVER looked so stunning. i am in love with her in this look. absolutely flawless.

  14. Parvati November 6, 2011 at 14:16 #

I love this look and it was something I didn’t expect, because when I saw these Gucci dresses on the runway, I thought that their design would probably not translate well on the red carpet. Well, Camilla here proved that they can translate well, because she looks amazing! I love everything here, from the dress to the hairstyle to the accessories.

  15. rebecca o November 6, 2011 at 14:22 #

I really want to see this dress in movement, then I might like it better. And I wish her hair was sleeker. Love those sandals, though.

  16. DivaDebbi (Beauty & Fashion Blog) November 6, 2011 at 14:32 #

All I can see is the dress. Camilla has disappeared.
I dont care for the fit at all. Pretty shoes.

  17. karine November 6, 2011 at 15:32 #

Love everything, from the hair to the dress to the shoes, and just the woman herself

  18. Lucía November 6, 2011 at 16:23 #

I love this look..perfect. I absolutely love the hair

  19. glenn November 6, 2011 at 16:27 #

Evan Rachel Wood wear a similar dress, i liked more in evan

    • Jen November 7, 2011 at 03:11 #

Loved ERW’s. Her shoes were great, too. Camilla’s hair kind of ruins this for me – it’s a little fuzzy.

  20. justme November 6, 2011 at 17:21 #

I love the shoes and that’s it. I’m not a fan of the dress so it’s not Camilla’s fault there and her hair is awful.

  21. mandy November 6, 2011 at 17:30 #

Love the dress and love the attitude. Hate the shoes tho. It looks really cheap (sorry).

  22. Rebecca Z November 6, 2011 at 17:51 #

She is a really gorgeous woman and i like her in the dress, and I love her hair, but I agree that they do not go together.

  23. Katrin November 6, 2011 at 18:24 #

I was surfing on youtube and found that florence welch wore one of those gucci flapper dresses preforming on TV:

I only knew that because I visit this site :)

    • Fashion Critic November 7, 2011 at 09:41 #

      thank you for this.

      It’s a great look.

  24. Elle November 6, 2011 at 21:29 #

She has the most striking pair of eyebrows on a face! The dress is a little too boxy and rectangular, but is that how it’s supposed to be? As in the 1920′s look? She looks super sleek and beautiful though.

  25. Jones19 November 6, 2011 at 22:25 #

Gorgeous gown and shoes! I’m in awe

  26. Tfrom Sydney November 6, 2011 at 22:57 #

    Love everyting but the hair

    • wingy November 7, 2011 at 16:39 #

      agree

  27. Hannah November 6, 2011 at 23:20 #

It doesn’t work for me, the most immediate reason why would be the hair, it needed to be smoother and sleeker, eithe rmore 20′s to complement the flapper style of the dress, or more modern, to complement that aspect of it. Also, the dress sits a little too low on her, the hem should be at it’s highest just abov ehte knee. I wish she had gone for a nicer ring, chagned hte earrings, worn more delicate shoes, and had red lips, darker eyes, and red toe and finger nails. The whoel look is just a little flat so that would have brought it to life IMO.
