Fan Bingbing In Elie Saab Couture – People of the Year Awards 2011 by Bazaar Men

Fan Bingbing proved that she is most definitely the unofficial (or even official) brand ambassador for Elie Saab at the People of the Year Awards 2011.

The event was held in Beijing, China, in conjunction with Bazaar Men for Mercedes-Benz China Fashion Week.

She looked breathtaking (when doesn’t she?) wearing an Elie Saab Spring 2011 Couture gown.

Her stone-embroidered gown with a grosgrain waistband and elbow-length sleeves was teamed with Cartier jewels which sparkled as brightly as her gown.

A side-swept bun and coral lips completed her look.

  4. Nat39 November 3, 2011 at 17:37 #

Everything is so pretty but I find her overwhelmed by this gown.

  5. Paulo November 3, 2011 at 17:56 #

She brings so much personality to this dress. I just love how she always seems to be having fun and gives off a very pleasant energy.

  6. AW November 3, 2011 at 17:56 #

It’s pretty but the color on her isn’t the most flattering, it makes her look sickly.

The dress itself however is gorgeous and I would love to see it on someone with a darker complexion.

    • Jackie November 3, 2011 at 22:29 #

Everything about this is perfect except for the color! It washes her out and sometimes that works (IMO at least) but definitely not here. If it was lavender color, this would be a KO.

This dress would most definitely look beautiful on someone with a darker complexion! I’d love to see this too.

  7. Lily November 3, 2011 at 17:56 #

There are posts that literally make me gasp. This is one of them. Utter perfection.

  8. maria November 3, 2011 at 18:00 #

gorgeous. Funny enough, it also goes really well with the car……

  9. justme November 3, 2011 at 18:15 #

That is one stunning dress and she’s rocking the hell out of it.

this gown is SO reminiscent of a saree.

    • Nat39 November 3, 2011 at 19:08 #

With a bare midriff, shorter sleeves and brighter colour, I guess, it could`ve been :)

  13. grace November 3, 2011 at 19:02 #

i have no idea why you love fan bing bing so much, i’ve never been impressed by the looks you’ve put up on this website, but this is the one that really is awesome. love it!

  14. robbie November 3, 2011 at 19:12 #

as lovely as she looks its boring now and is beyond predictable.

    • Azur November 4, 2011 at 06:17 #

Agree! nothing new just like elie saab’s work

  15. Jones19 November 3, 2011 at 19:44 #

    Wow picture perfect!

  16. The.Shoe.Freak November 3, 2011 at 20:14 #

As much as I love Elie Saab and Fan Bing Bing, im getting bored with the association as well. I would love to see her in other different designers for a while and then comeback to Elie Saab…Now every time she hits a red carpet or makes an appearance, you can predict an Elie Saab dress. Takes the magic out of it.
Best example would be Renee Zellweger, who I loved once upon a time, before she became Carolina Herrera’s left hip, and therefore oh so predictable, boring and stale. Where is she anyway?

I would love to see Fan Bing Bing in Oscar de La Renta, Dior, Chanel, Nina ricci…or bolder in Versace, McQueen or Givenchy.

    What do you guys think?

    • Hannah November 3, 2011 at 20:29 #

I agree. She is so, so breathtakingly gorgeous, and so is Elie Saab, but they feel overexposed, I feel like she has worn half of this collection, and his otehr ones too. I would die for Fan in Givenchy, I think she can really really pullit off. My favourite look from her was the DIVINE dragon dress at last years cannes film festival, and that was interesting, adn wuirky and she, and only she, could have pulled it off. It was magic, ad for me, elie saab does great clothes, btu so many people will look beautiful in them for that matter, it is no longer magical for me. It’s like when she looks so perfect, but doesn’t she always, it isn’t exciting anymore.

    • CreoleLady November 3, 2011 at 21:05 #

ShoeFreak, I think you are spot on. BingBing is to Saab what Renee is to Herrera. I’m not tired of Saab but I am tired of seeing BingBing in Saab.

      • Jackie November 3, 2011 at 22:32 #

OMG it would be amaaaaaaaaaazing to see Fan in Givenchy or Alexander McQueen or anything else for that matter because she could most definitely pull anything off with ease. I hope she does it!

  17. Lucía November 3, 2011 at 20:25 #

    Isn’t it jut perfection?

    • Quinn November 4, 2011 at 02:01 #

      YES! BDOTW contender for sure!

  18. Parvati November 3, 2011 at 21:29 #

She looks really good, but I’m tired of seeing her wear the same Elie Saab embellished gowns over and over again. Plus, this one slightly washes her out.

I get that she sticks to a style that undoubtedly works for her, but she really should try other styles, too, because she has become REALLY boring.

  19. kat November 3, 2011 at 22:27 #

She is stunning! She looks like a doll.

Thank you for showing Asian actresses’ fashion as we never get exposed to them here in Los Angeles,. I only see them in your website. Thanks again as it is a breath of fresh air!

    • Fashion Critic November 3, 2011 at 22:36 #

      My pleasure x

  20. Anna November 3, 2011 at 23:44 #

    a lot of make-up
    not fan at all

  21. gurlygurl November 4, 2011 at 02:03 #

I know people are getting a bit tired of seeing her in Saab but I have to say I can’t think of many women who can work Saabs beautiful gowns the way Fan can. There’s something eternally graceful about this woman, I believe she can wear anything and make it look glorious. I too would love to see her in other designers but this is yet another thumbs up for Saab & Fan. Truly beautiful.

    • ww November 4, 2011 at 12:25 #

      agree!!!

  22. mari November 4, 2011 at 03:53 #

I think that she looks LOVELY with all capital letters.
I’d be scared and thankful of wearing such a delicate dress (if I could haha)

  23. Joy November 4, 2011 at 05:20 #

Wow! I don’t think she could look more beautiful. Fan is absolutely stunning in this dress. BDOTW for sure.

  24. zeo November 4, 2011 at 06:58 #

OMG,Love this look SOOO MUCH!!!! I guess Im one of those people that just cant get enough of Fan Bingbing and Elie Saab!FC,thank you for this!

    • Fashion Critic November 4, 2011 at 08:49 #

      I feel the same

  25. Zineb November 4, 2011 at 07:03 #

How many times dp I have to write the same comment over & over again whenever I see a Fan photo !!!!

FAN BIGBING + ELIE SAAB = PERFECTION

  26. Emi November 4, 2011 at 08:53 #

The gown itself is incredibly beautiful, but I’m kinda bored, it’s a deja vu. I wonder if she wears these gowns at home, too… I think that sometimes she’s a bit overdressed. I don’t know how important the event was, but this gown would be perfect for the Oscars.
    She’s very graceful, anyway.

  27. zeenie November 4, 2011 at 12:31 #

This is so reminiscent of a saree.. like a Tarun Tahilyani Sari.. beautiful none the less
