When Andrea Riseborough was still sporting those gorgeous raven locks, she wore a Dolce & Gabbana metallic paillette-embellished dress from the Fall 2011 collection to the ‘W.E.’ Toronto Film Festival premiere.
The sparkling dress upstaged her co-star Abbie Cornish and her director, Madonna.
She kept the look simple by adding just black pumps and a black clutch.
Anna Dello Russo wore the same dress whilst taking her front row seat at the Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 presentation during Paris Fashion Week.
If I owned this dress I would assume the sparkle would be enough to carry it, but Anna loves to accessorize a simple look to make her stand out to her street-style photogs.
I adore that floral gold choker and I think the waistband perfects the look.
Whilst I think the green snakeskin Gucci clutch and floral pumps are a tad OTT, she wins for the choker and waistband alone.

i love, love, love anna’s look. it is ott, but she picked the snakeskin clutch and floral pumps in the same colour as the dress so it matches and accentuates rather than distracts or make the look busy and the necklace is divine
+1
+2, I love ADR’s take on this, magic!
anna dello russo mastered this look!!!!! the accessories arent over done but they still make a great statement. this dress is amazing on her.
Tulisa also wore it
ADR wears anything better than anyone. She wins everytime!!!
Anna loses on posture alone for me, she never seems to stand up straight.
Anna has a relatively long face and a not particularly long neck. If she styled herself in recognition of those facts, she would be unbeatably well-dressed.
My thoughts exactly. While she always looks great, I think she would look even better if she didn’t hunch her shoulders all the time. Because of her poor posture it makes Andrea Riseborough seem like she carries this look with more confidence.
Andrea, because I don’t like Anna’s accessories, most of all the shoes.
I actually like ADR’s pumps and purse but dislike the addition of the choker and waistband.
one woman’s meat is another woman’s poison
Agreed. The dress is much better, simply styled. Andrea simply wears this better, making the dress and her hair work together for a stunning look. With ADR, I never know where to look.
I also like the pumps and the clutch, they work really well here, don`t mind the waistband, but the choker is a real choker here – it doesn`t work with her face, and her sleek straight hair, doesn`t suit her looks.
Still, she wins for me, wihtout a doubt, as Andrea looks plain matronly in this dress, mother of the bride much…
“doesn`t suit her appearance”
Neither.
Easily Anna for me, because Andrea doesn’t ahve the stature, presence or attitude to pull this dress off, and Anna does with great panache. The belt helped immensely.
