Sarah Jessica Parker is currently in Australia to promote her latest movie, ‘I Don’t Know How She Does It’.
Her first stop on her tour was Melbourne where she attended a press conference at the Crown.
Many of you will be disappointed to see her white Manolo Blahnik pumps back on the red carpet, but I’m totally hypnotized by her Vera Wang Spring 2012 dress.
Her yellow watercolour-print long-sleeve dress was also teamed with aqua-blue pearls for a Carrie Bradshaw-esque touch.
As someone who is dead against white pumps of any kind for any occasion – unless it’s your wedding of course – I find myself not being too bothered by them on this occasion.
SJP will be presenting the Crown Oaks trophy at the Melbourne Cup Carnival on Thursday, so I’m wondering if her white pumps will get a second outing down under.

The dress is AMAZING but the beads look like they were made by one of her children.. she should have left them at home!

I LOVE that dress, Vera Wang does so many beautiful pieces and it is totally right for our Aussie season right now and the necklace is a nice touch. I don’t mind the shoes too much

i’m not an SPJ fan at all, but i’ll give credit where credit is due. this looks fabulous! it’s a very good thing for me that she’s wearing a design that covers her arms, i have yet to see a picture where they don’t come off looking scary and wiry and veiny and hideous, this looks lovely. the dress is breath taking, it’s so refreshing and energetic. i’m awarding her a billion points for no visible panty line, because that could have shown very easily with this fabric, and would have completely ruined this look. fc, i despise white shoes, i don’t even like them for brides. there are so many choices out there, a white shoe is just so uninspired for a bride. i will say i don’t mind them. they don’t interfere with the look, so i’ll buy. finally, lei mentioned the necklace. fortunately nowadays there are more and more options for accesorising with upcycled, recycled or green materials, moving away from metal, stone and the like, showing you can look amazing and on trend cheaply, even if you are a celebrity, even on the red carpet and at high profile events. i don’t know that it is the case with this necklace in particular, but whenever a celebrity who can spend a ton on fur or new leather or non renewable minerals, wears something like this, other people who are influenced by them fashion wise may choose something different from the obvious next time they’re putting an outfit together.

the dress is amazing, but the necklace and the shoes don’t fit.

SJP is one of the few people who can rock white pumps and get away with it. Get it girl! That said, I would LOVE a more structured belt on this look. The droopy tie is not doing it for me, but the dress IS gorgeous.
