Gemma Arterton In YSL – Amazon: An Exhibition In Aid Of Sky Rainforest Rescue

Gemma Arterton was present at the private viewing of ‘Amazon: An Exhibition In Aid Of Sky Rainforest Rescue’ which took place this evening in London.

The actress wore a YSL chain-embellished crepe jumpsuit from the Fall 2011 collection.

This chic number had a Grecian feel to it because of the decadent gold chain which cascades down her back before wrapping around her waist.

The top-half of this jumpsuit looks exquisite on Gemma, but I’m not sure about the pants.

They aren’t particularly flattering as they make her appear wider than she actually is, plus they are heavily creased.

Gemma decided to go with a sleek updo, which was a great call. Had her hair been down it would have taken away from the sexiness of the back.

She finished her look with a nude pout and subtle shimmery eye shadow. The only jewelry she needed were two gold rings.

Rachel Zoe would pull off this ensemble without a glitch. This outfit totally screams out her name.

You can buy Gemma’s YSL jumpsuit from
Net-A-Porter US and Net-A-Porter International.

I really love this on the model and the top half and upper back looks really great but the creases just really ruin this for me. She did choose a good hair do though

just out of curiosity.. how could she have avoided he creases if the fabric is prone to them? I have no idea. maybe she shouldn’t have posed?
    The top is lovely.

She looks best when doing the classically beautiful look. Edgy doesn’t suit her beauty or curves.

From the back, it looks really good (I don’t mind the creases, I mean, it’s difficult to avoid them, isn’t it?), but I don’t like the front of the jumpsuit. It makes her look really wide.

The back of the dress makes up from the front, but it’s still quite snooze-worthy.

Nikki Reed, Jessica Biel, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton… Looks like white gowns are on fire, aren’t they?

Having her thumb in the left pocket pulling down and out only makes the bottom half appear wider – the creases are horrible too.

she needed spanx big time, regardless of your shape spanx helps to ease the curves an imperfections

I agree with you, FC, from the first to the last word.

again, great on the runway and in principle, but it does not work in real life. The creases are really bad.
    I love the back though.

I can’t get past all the creases. Messy.

Why bother showing off the back of your outfit to the cameras when you’ve creased it?

  13. robbie November 1, 2011 at 20:44 #

so unflattering. the whole look is a mess.

I so agree with you and I would even add that her makeup is a complete disaster as well

      • Jen November 2, 2011 at 05:12 #

I agree with you both and will further add that the hairstyle is not flattering either.

The whole outfit looks so much more fluid on the model, whilst the fabric appears almost stiff on Gemma. It’s too bad, because this could have been a great look.
