Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: October 2011

Elle Fanning attended the 15th Annual Hollywood Film Awards Gala in Beverly Hills yesterday evening.

The teen actress opted for a Valentino Spring 2012 dress – our first look at this collection on the red carpet.

Her nude cotton-lace floor-length short-sleeve dress with embroidered details was just the right length for the young star.

My problem with this look is that she’s wearing yet another nude dress.

I would’ve loved to have seen her in something more colourful and less aging from this collection.

On this occasion her hairstyle also lets her down.

I have to give credit where credit is due – Camilla Belle has been nothing short of sensational on the red carpet the last few outings.

This was most definitely the case as she entered the Lincoln Center for An Evening with Ralph Lauren, hosted by Oprah Winfrey, in New York City yesterday evening.

The gorgeous actress wore a Ralph Lauren Fall 2011 gown.

Her outstanding gown with a sheer yoke, beaded body and feather-like chiffon train gave her an amazing silhouette.

I’m sure many of you will pick at her lack of imagination for styling her hair and makeup almost identically to the model, but it’s working for her as she oozes sexy sophistication.

I especially love the glossy pink lips.

For me this is a BDOTW contender.

What do you think?

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley looked devastatingly beautiful (without much effort) on the red carpet at the 15th Annual Hollywood Film Awards Gala which was held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel, California last night.

She opted for a long-sleeve Emilio Pucci Fall 2011 dress.

Her ornate embroidered floral dress, which is elegantly offset by the crystal embellishment, has an open back and a subtle side split for added sex appeal.

With the rich mix of colours, Rosie kept her hair and makeup very simple.

Beauty-wise she opted for a slightly messy bun and a neutral lip colour.

It’s been over a month since we last saw Thandie Newton. The British actress attended the ‘Death and the Maiden’ press after-party in London last night.

On her last outing she wore a Giles Resort 2012 dress; this time she wore a Giles Spring 2012 dress.

As always she looks absolutely divine.

I love the mix of colours, textures and prints here.

Her dress has a leopard print and silk print top with a red waistband and a silver metallic skirt.

I just love the unexpected pop of aqua Nicholas Kirkwood pumps.

This isn’t an easy look to pull off with so much going on, plus she doesn’t play it safe with black pumps.

It’s going to be a hard week, but I would love to squeeze this into BDOTW.

Zoe Saldana wore black and white Giuseppe Zanotti ruched chiffon peep-toe platform pumps to the Gen Art’s Fresh Faces In Fashion Event.

It’s very rare that white shoes ever look good on the red carpet.

Zoe carried a dark metallic Judith Leiber clutch which made the awkward shoes stand out even more. Black heels would have worked with Zoe’s accessories and her Antonio Berardi blush coloured dress.

Shoes Zoe Should Have Worn:

Gianvito Rossi’s satin sandal is from the Fall 2011 Carbon collection. This is my favorite choice for Zoe; they’re beautifully simple.

These Jimmy Choo Dome suede strappy heels feature diamanté embellishment and work so well with Zoe’s accessories. Kelly Rowland showed us how fabulous they look on the red carpet.

If Zoe wanted to stick with a Zanotti design the black satin d’Orsay peep-toe platform pumps are a much better choice. There’s also a patent version but I prefer the satin texture with her dress.
