Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: October 2011

Solange Knowles was spinning the decks at the Burberry Body Launch event which was hosted at the Beverly Hills store by Christopher Bailey and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley yesterday evening.

She wore a print shirt and a teal high-waist skirt with an asymmetrical detail.

It’s a good thing she wore those Burberry Prorsum Resort 2012 beaded sandals, because the rest of her ensemble is a big miss; especially the skirt.

I appreciate that she wanted to be individual at this event and not a head-to-toe runway clone, but she would’ve looked a whole lot better wearing a look from the Burberry Spring or Resort 2012 collection.

Since she’s very much into wearing tribal prints, I’m very surprised she didn’t lap up this collection.

On this occasion she sported a tamer ‘fro to the Diane Ross-like mane she showcased on her last red carpet outing.

Olivia Palermo was on hand to help one of her favourite designers, Giambattista Valli, launch his Macy’s Impluse collection at the Herald Square store in New York City yesterday.

She was of course wearing a look from the Giambattista Valli for Macy’s Impulse collection.

Her velvet burnt-out black strapless dress with a grosgrain waistband was teamed with a military-inspired blazer and a gold belt.

She mixed her metals by added silver Zara brogues, a silver pendant necklace and a silver sequined Mango shoulder bag which she carried as a clutch.

You can shop the whole 37-piece Giambattista Valli for Macy’s Impulse collection right now over at macy’s.com.

Heidi Klum was the oldest person to take to the red carpet for the 2011 TeenNick Halo Awards which was held at the Hollywood Palladium in California yesterday.

She wore a Versace Fall 2011 dress.

Her sexy, plunging LBD with a green suede contrasting appliqué was accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz bracelets and black ankle-strap peep-toes.

This is a cool, fun, approachable look, but Heidi could’ve done way better with her shoe choice.

I wish she’d opted for something a bit funkier, especially as she has such an amazing collection.

Kate Bosworth, who’s known to be a huge fan of Burberry, attended the Burberry Body Launch event which was hosted at the Beverly Hills store by Christopher Bailey and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley yesterday evening.

She donned a beautiful African print dress from the Burberry Prorsum Spring 2012 collection.

As you know, I’m obsessed with this print, so I’m glad to see the actress working the hell out of this uber glam dress.

Her halter dress with a knotted and keyhole detail was teamed with a black belt and black strappy sandals.

As much as I love the dress, I’m going supersonic about her turquoise and green embellished wristlet.

‘Just got out of bed’ tresses and glossy lips completed her look.

Victoria Justice attended the 2011 TeenNick Halo Awards which were held at the Hollywood Palladium in California yesterday.

She wore a Tadashi Shoji ruched mini dress, which I suppose is cute enough if you like this type of thing, but I don’t. It’s kinda sickly sweet for me. I actually have a toothache looking at this dress.

I’m also not fond of her Giuseppe Zanotti ankle-strap sculptural wedges with this dress.

Victoria’s hair is also too matronly for this look. Despite it being styled into a central parting with a ponytail, it feels so rigid.

The only thing I like here is the lip colour and the wedges on their own.

We first spotted the Topshop navy polka-dot midi dress on Fearne Cotton early last month.

She wore the dress with red crisscross suede pumps, when she attended Freddie Mercury’s 65th birthday in aid of the Mercury Phoenix Trust in London.

Pixie Geldof wore the same dress a week later when she helped open the new Westfield Stratford City shopping centre in London.

Sporting golden curly locks, the socialite accessorized with gold-hooped earrings and black peep-toes.

Model Laura Bailey wore the same dress to the Quintessentially Awards in London.

She also accessorized with black peep-toes plus a black quilted Chanel bag. Messy hair and red lips completed her look.

A few days later, Kirsten Dunst wore the same dress whilst arriving at Heathrow airport en route to the US following her ‘Melancholia’ premiere.

Brown shades, triple-strap ballet pumps, a Celine Boston tote and a Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton bag completed her look.

Finally, Saoirse Ronan donned this now very popular Topshop dress for the grand opening of ‘The Lir’ at the National Academy of Dramatic Art, Trinity College Dublin in Ireland last week.

On the fifth outing for this dress, the young actress added tan lace-up heels and a gold necklace.

Save Fearne, I’m not crazy about any of their shoe choices, but my final vote goes to Pixie.

It’s refreshing to me to see her looking quite cute and girlie for a change.

You can buy their Topshop dress from Topshop US and Topshop International.
