Robin Wright glided down the red carpet at the 2011 Doha Tribeca Film Festival in Qatar on Saturday night.
She opted to wear an Elie Saab Spring 2007 Couture gown from the designer’s archives.
The black strapless tulle gown was worn with a drape detail on one shoulder which cascades down her back into a flowing train.
Robin opted to go light on the jewels and she didn’t carry a clutch to allow the focus to be on her dramatic black gown.
Glossy pink lips and side-sweeping bangs completed her look.

Quite beautiful on the runway, but not working for Robin. I dont care for the tulle draped over her shoulder. It overpowers her completely. Casual hair, makeup and lack of accessories just don’t work here.
+1
+2. First time I’ve seen a Elie Saab dress on someone and not liked it.
Gorgeous. BDOTW? Even if she could have done something better with hair and make up.
OMG
Elie Saab’s archives pieces are just wonderful !
The gown is beautiful and I’m sure I would have loved the whole look if it weren’t for this hair. The way it’s styled, it feels too casual for such a formal gown.
i agree. i love the dress, but it needs more drama.
Magnificent! More celebs need to wear my favourite designer!
Wow she put zero effort into this look and simply depended on the dress to do everything. How disappointing. Wish someone more interesting would’ve worn this gown.
Agreed. The tulle over the shoulder is especially tragic.
+1 Looks like she didn’t even wash her hair.
I love the dress but I miss accessories. A gorgeous statement ring or a nice pair of earrings never hurt anybody.
I’m also not a fan of the hair, it’s all a big flop.. the way it’s cut, the style… Robin shouldn’t cut her hair in such a boyish way as she already has too strong masculine features.
I think this is one of her best looks.
So-so.
I think commenters above have made some good suggestions as to how this look might have been improved.
Love the drama of the tulle but Robin really needs to do something better with her hair. She’s gorgeous but that style of hair is just aging on her.
This is the 1st time i’ve seen an Elie Saab dress on someone and not liked it.
The dress is amazing and looks really good on her but I like the use of the tulle better on the model. I miss the accessories though, it just feels like she is in the middle of getting ready.
I am all about simple glamour but this is just lazy. The dress is amazing (as always with Elie Saab) but it looks like she has just tried it on in the dressing room! Tsk tsk. Disappointed
An awesome Elie Saab gown! She still looks great, THANKS to Elie Saab!
