Last week ‘Desperate Housewives’ actress Eva Longoria braved the rain in New York City as she made her way to ‘The Joy Behar Show’.
She wore yet another Victoria Beckham dress, this time from the designer’s Fall 2011 collection.
The Victoria Beckham dress with a cashmere top and stretch crepe skirt is a luxe take on casual dressing.
Her dress, which she teamed with Brian Atwood black ankle-strap pumps, comes with the runway leather belt which holds the whole look together, but Eva decided to make the look her own.
Eva wore the look off one shoulder and knotted the draped detail on the front. This shows she’s not one to copy a look straight off the runway.
In fact, she has modified many looks to suit her petite frame, although not all were successful.
I still can’t decide if this look was made more versatile or sloppy on Eva.
What do you think?

How to Achieve the Classic Blowout

I think it doesn’t look too sloppy, just a little more casual than the runway version. The skirt looks great on her.
Ditto, it looks lovely like this
This look is so, so sloppy on Eva. The belt is completely necessary in the context of an outfit like this – it would have made it look infinitely cleaner, more precise and much more polished. Without it, the whole thing just looks plain weird.
totally agree with you, Martin!
yup..even if this was a planned outfit change looks to me like she just got out of bed haphazard!
I don’t like the modifications. That top does nothing for her. It looks great on the runway.
It needs a belt, it just looks weird without it.
I prefer the original styling of the dress. It’s not terrible on Eva, but when you see the original concept, it makes you wonder why anyone would mess with something so sophisticated.
PS–FC, that YSL tote in your favorites is TO DIE FOR!
I know…hopefully one day it will make it off my favourites and into my closet
I’ve got my fingers crossed for you :>
It does look sloppy. I like the runway look better.
I like the runway version better, but the modifications work for Eva.
She ruined the outfit
I think it looks rather sloppy on her. She should have kept the runway version – although it’s good that she tried to make this look her own.
Call me crazy, I love it on her!
Sloppy.
And that is NOT the direction you want to go if you are small.
ummm not so sure about the outfit, bad shoes , but strangely enough i like the choice of the umbrella
I miss miss miss the runway belt. It completely ruins this outfit for me. The Eva version looks like she cleaned her house in the top and then decided to put on a skirt and make up and nice shoes to step out.
“I still can`t decide…”
+1
s.l.o.p.p.y.
i am not a big fan of Eva, but have to accept that this look is one of very few that look better on real person. model’s look is so predictable.
I think she looks nice enough, but her styling is not nearly as sharp as the runway look. That belt really makes the outfit for me.
The top looks like she was making out in the car on her way to the show – sloppy and all over the place. Much prefer the look with the belt.
I find it sloppy, I love the runway version, she could have worn it with an obi or just tucked it into one side this just looks like she threw a rag over herself.
I don’t like the shoes, but I really think it looks better on Eva than on the runway. Like someone already said the runway version is quite predictible.
Love both looks, but I am also really into sweaters over dresses at the moment. I would definintely wear the dress the way Eva does.
I would have to agree with the majority here — it’s very sloppy looking. WHY OH WHY wouldn’t you use the belt? The styled runway look is far more chic than what Eva tried to pull off. I give her credit for trying to ‘make it her own,’ but this is a major FAIL.
A bit sloppy, but I love the tone of gray.
sloppy. and I don’t think grey looks nice against her skin colour.
