Salma Hayek In Stella McCartney – Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

Salma Hayek dropped by the NBC studios in New York City to promote her new movie ‘Puss In Boots’ on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’.

The actress called first dibs on a look from the Stella McCartney Spring 2012 collection, like she did with Bottega Veneta and Alexander McQueen who are also part of the Gucci Group.

I wonder if she’s going to debut the whole set which would include Gucci, YSL and Balenciaga.

Her navy and blue tank Stella McCartney dress with a swirl velvet appliqué was teamed with a black blazer with satin lapels.

An silver choker, black tights, a silver cuff, and YSL Tribtoo pumps completed her look.

The surprising thing about this look is the addition of the blazer, considering how much she was showing off in her Antonio Berardi dress on ‘Letterman’ earlier this week.

Surprisingly cute, given the lingerie-like nature of the dress with the tights

I love this look. That blue is gorgeous.

I dont care for this at all. Looks like she was wearing a nightie and had to grab the first thing and run out because there was a fire..

Totally agree. I would have liked it more if she had kept the blazer unbuttoned.

that’s what i was thinking. Why wear such a cute dress if you cover it up with a blazer.

        i also dislike the necklace.

I don’t like the necklace either, definitely needs to go and I agree with you Maria and Jones19 about the blazer, I too was thinking exactly the same thing, unbutoon it but I do like the ensemble of dress, blazer, tights and shoes. I would really like to see Selma pull her hair back once in a while

I think it`s buttoned to perfection :) gives her figure such a nice shape while you can still see the detail on the dress which is not a strong statement piece on its own anyway.

OMG. I don’t know what to say. She ruined this dress.

Love the addition of the blazer – it flatters her figure and pulls the look together, balances her heavy black tights/pumps combo. Pretty hair, and the bold standout jewelry keep this look from being boring. I think it works.

      I agree 100%.

Bar the chocker, this is the best I´ve seen her all week (not that it was very difficult).

Something about Salma just annoys me, if it wasn’t for her husband owning the Gucci Group I don’t think she’d be wearing all the new collections first – they’re only dressing her because of status. Plus she tries SO hard to be edgy and high fashion which she should stop because she almost always fails.

That said, who on Earth wears a fresh of the runway Stella look covered with a blazer?!

I think shes completely misunderstood the minimalist nature of Stella Mcartneys designs..! They’re meant to unadorned… shes made it look like something you could get in Debenhams…

I like it, except that nonsense necklace and the bracelet.

I’m surprised that I like it. The jacket makes the look for me. That color blue is such a good color for her. She looks so dynamic and energized, which helps.

    • MJ October 29, 2011 at 02:45 #

That’s exactly how I feel. I think she looks great. I believe it’s because the proportions and fit are right for her body for once. I love it. It’s such a shame she can’t look perfect every time, given her endless advantages!

    • Mrs. A October 29, 2011 at 08:07 #

Yeah. The jacket makes the dress special. Without it, this isnt such a great piece IMHO, Stella. The dress itself looks like something on the lingerie rack at Macys.

I don’t care for this outfit, I think her hair looks gorgeous though.

  12. mari October 28, 2011 at 23:50 #

I agree, her figure looks great, and
The shade of blue and the black are a beautiful contrast. She gets to choose from all these dresses. I am jealous.

I like the structure the blazer brings to this negligee sort of dress, but the tights make it all far too heavy.

  14. Mrs. A October 29, 2011 at 08:03 #

The blazer was a great addition. It ups the wow factor of the dress, gives it some structure and prevets it from looking like a night gown. Without the blazer, this would have been quite a forgettable outfit. So good for her.

  16. Lils October 29, 2011 at 09:43 #

I really like this look. She doesn’t look too sophisticated and it really flatters her figure.

  17. Tania October 29, 2011 at 18:44 #

Love it! she’s taken a Spring look and made it totally wearable for Fall. Kudos to her!

I really don’t like this blazer with evening dress trend.
