Tilda Swinton In Jil Sander – ‘I Am Love’ Screening & Jil Sander Spring 2012 Tokyo Presentation

In Tilda Swinton’s new movie, ‘I Am Love’ she wears a wardrobe of Jil Sander looks which were created by Raf Simons for the British actress.

The movie was released in Japan this week, so to celebrate the occasion Jil Sander held an exclusive fashion show and screening event in Tokyo yesterday.

Tilda gives us our first look at the Jil Sander Spring 2012 collection on the red carpet.

She wore a navy blue mid-calf length dress with Jil Sander light grey sling-backs and a black clutch.

This dress refines femininity with a modern simplicity, so don’t be surprised that Tilda’s version doesn’t have the Erickson Beamon brooches.

i love this look, but i would have preferred a belt or the brooches for a bit of extra flavour.

Even though I still adore this look, as is always teh case withthe wnderful tila, it is gorgeously refreshing, but I would have loved it more with the pink bag.

I had this looks pegged for Cate Blanchett when I saw it on the runway but I think Tilda looks great in it. If I’m being picky, I would have lowered the neckline a little and added the brooches to make it perfect.

You know who would look amazing wearing a Mary Katrantzou dress? Tilda Swinton. I know she loves wearing simple things like this or billowy Haider Ackermann stuff, but god damn I would die to see her in one of those prints.

    she looks amazing.

She looks really really good, some could say it is boring which I get but I think this is simplicity at its best. Tilda tends to frustrate me with her looks but personally this delivers for me and I am a big fan of Jil Sander. I love the runway look, great colour and the brooches are awesome but I understand that jewels etc aren’t really Tilda’s style

I glanced over the shot and failed to see that it was actually a clutch she is holding, thinking it was a black detail on the dress itself.
And I loved it for it.
I guess it goes to show that the dress needed a bit more.

    prefer a different coloured bag

I Am Love with that dress, perfection!

I like the simple lines of the dress but I agree that it needed the broaches to add some interest in an otherwise very simple design. Tilda Swinton is an interesting one to watch on the red carpet as she always is her own woman. She isn’t always successful with her edgy choices in gowns, but even when she fails, Tilda is always noticed.
