Menswear Midweek Red Carpet Round Up

Michael Fassbender: The actor wore a Giorgio Armani Made to Measure brown wool cashmere suit to the London Film Festival premiere of ‘A Dangerous Method’. I’m surprised that I like this brown suit, but it is Armani after all.

Drake: For his 25th birthday party held at Tao Nightclub in Las Vegas this weekend, Drake wore a bright blue printed silk button-down Versace shirt with black slacks. That’s one way to stand out on your birthday party.

Anton Yelchin: The actor received the ‘Hollywood Spotlight Award’ at the Hollywood Film Awards Gala wearing a grey Balenciaga by Nicolas Ghesquière suit. He opted not to wear a tie for the prestigious occasion, so I wish he’d undone the top button at the very least.

Dwyane Wade: The NBC star was Gabrielle Union’s +1 at the 2011 Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Awards. He didn’t cramp her style by looking too flashy. He wore a textured grey Versace two-button notch lapel suit with a matching scarf and a pair of Air Jordan 3 sneakers.

I am really appreciating your coverage of the boys lately.

dwayne wade shows how versace should get worn: perfectly tailored suit with the nonchalance of a pair of high-tops.

i will be a happy lady if you keep featuring Mr Gosling, Mr Fassbender and Mr Skarsgard !!

i HATE when men wear sneakers with suits. they just look stupid and not cool.
only Fassbender looks fantastic the rest need to dump their stylist.

  4. Katch October 27, 2011 at 00:18 #

Mmmmm…. my boys are looking fine! Well, Fassbender and sometimes Anton. Cuties!

  5. Jones19 October 27, 2011 at 00:04 #

One more appreciation comment: LOVE this post. Anton looks especially dapper here, love his suit.

Thanks for posting even menswear FC, I really appreciate it (and I must have this blue Versace shirt in my closet asap!)

Michael Fassbender on this site?! Urgh as if Ryan Gosling wasn’t enough now the site is officially perfect and flaw free. Thank you FC!
Michael’s suit is the best (a little too big considering he’s quite lean), the others are too off or awkward altho Dwyane is looking pretty good.

      lol…you girls 😉

  8. Moxie October 26, 2011 at 19:32 #

I’ll buy that, but here’s no excuse for the white socks with black shoes.

  9. Firefly October 26, 2011 at 19:14 #

I like that men are a regular feature now.
Dwyane wins this round for me

All of the good in their individual styles except for Anton Yechin. The pants are too short and he should have either wore a tie or unbuttoned his shirt in the collar.

    • Fashion Critic October 26, 2011 at 19:06 #

I thought they were too short too, but it’s only because his hands are in his pockets.

when he is holding his award you can see they are a proper length

      • mol October 26, 2011 at 19:16 #

Oh, I like that shot – no white socks in view and one can see the fit, nice…

    Drake needs a stylist fast.

    • Ylenia Castellano October 26, 2011 at 21:45 #

      +1 A good one.

    • AW October 26, 2011 at 22:01 #

While I can agree with that, a lot of the problem is his face and hair, something is off slightly.

    • Tina October 26, 2011 at 23:35 #

Drake’s shirt hurts my feelings. Even though he’s is my fav artist right now (read: obsession), I agree he needs a stylist for his casual looks. He looks fine in a proper suit or tux. And yeah he photographs weird. Sometimes he looks super handsome and sometimes super goofy like here lol.

It is Armani after all and it also is Michael Fassbender. He would look good in a sack *swoon* So glad you featured him FC, I was actually curious who designed his suit. Thanks!

  13. justme October 26, 2011 at 18:29 #

I love this, I hope it becomes a regular thing, FC 😉

    • Emi October 26, 2011 at 20:42 #

      Me, too!

    • AnnaP October 26, 2011 at 21:08 #

      And me!

  14. CreoleLady October 26, 2011 at 18:25 #

Mmm, mmm, good. Oh, yeah, right, the clothes. Very yummy, er, um, handsome, whatever, lol. Although on a serious note, Yelchin looks like he’s wearing highwaters, I hope that’s not the fashionable length these days for men.

  15. Nat39 October 26, 2011 at 18:19 #

If four of them were standing in front of me I`d tell the last 3 to get packed and leave immediately. Michael Fassbender rocks his Armani suit- perfect fit, perfect length, clean, polished and classy. ( no sneakers, no overly narrow bordering on comical pants, etc.)

  16. robbie October 26, 2011 at 18:07 #

sneakers and a suit really do not look good, only ellen degeneres can pull it off (IMO)

  17. From Russia With Love October 26, 2011 at 18:06 #

No one can beat Ryan Gosling. Neeeeext!

    • Linda October 26, 2011 at 20:56 #

But let them keep trying… 🙂

    • Next October 27, 2011 at 10:00 #

Gosling is trying too hard and his suits look ridiculous.

  18. Moxie October 26, 2011 at 17:53 #

White socks with black shoes? Isn’t that a menswear fashion faux pas?

  19. Alina October 26, 2011 at 17:52 #

Michael Fassbender and Dwyane Wade look good.

    I like the new feature,FC.
