Keira Knightley In Roksanda Ilincic – ‘A Dangerous Method’ London Film Festival Premiere

Keira Knightley took to the red carpet tonight for the London Film Festival premiere of her latest movie, ‘A Dangerous Method’.

I was delighted to see her wearing something that wasn’t predictable on this occasion.

She looked amazing wearing a Roksanda Ilincic Resort 2012 dress.

This black and dove grey look is a brave choice on a cold winter night in London, but she totally rocks it as she’s so statuesque and graceful.

Her calf length dress with a criss-cross bodice and keyhole detail was styled with a super slick side parted bun.

Black ankle strap sandals, a Chanel ring and a nude lip colour completed her look.

Many of you continue to dislike this length of dress on the red carpet, so how do you feel about it on Keira?

Big loooooooove! I’m not the biggest fan of this length either, but on Keira it looks great because she’s tall and has long lengs. She’s stunning! Thanks FC! xo

I love calf length dresses to be honest. I also love keira knightley. So this is a perfect sartorial heaven for me. She totally rocks the look!

    • Fashion Critic October 24, 2011 at 21:00 #

      I do too.

I’m surprised that so many people dislike it.

      • Juliana October 25, 2011 at 07:52 #

I really lile the lenght, even though I’d never wear it with my (lack of) height. I just wish she had chosen something without straps on her ankles…

  3. Gabi October 24, 2011 at 21:00 #

The problem with this length is that it shrinks people. It doesn’t matter whether is on the red carpet or not, it’s just never good a choice.

  4. Kin October 24, 2011 at 21:04 #

As much as I love her here, I can’t help but admit yet again that she needs to ease up on the cakey foundation.

  5. robbie October 24, 2011 at 21:09 #

love it. not normally a fan of the calf length look but she looks amazing. her shoes are salvatore ferragamo.

    • Fashion Critic October 24, 2011 at 21:22 #

      thanks

  6. Can October 24, 2011 at 21:13 #

She looks amazing. And different from the usual.

Is it to much to hope this the start of something?

  7. Hermione Weasley October 24, 2011 at 21:15 #

I love this look. She always looks so effortlessly chic.

  8. justme October 24, 2011 at 21:15 #

I don’t mind this type of length. I do think wearing ankle strap shoes with it is always a bad geometrical decision.
I like the runway presentation of the dress better. I prefer the blue top and the skirt sits higher on the bust, leaving the keyhole smaller and more tasteful.

    • Linda October 25, 2011 at 13:02 #

Ditto on liking the runway presentation better in both fit and colouring.

  9. Lena October 24, 2011 at 21:19 #

The problem I have with this length is that is cuts people’s legs off, they end up looking shorter ans often stumpy, this particular dress I like better because the skirt is slightly tapered but I find that the ankle strap shoes undo all the improvement the shape of the skirt provided. I would have done a dove gray open toe, single platform decolte shoe, no straps to be seen so as not to interrupt the line.

How do I feel about it? Not my favourite thing. It can be so awkward sometimes. But how do I feel about it on Keira? It’s so perfect I barely cannot describe it right. Statuesque and graceful, yeah. Thank you!

  11. allieh October 24, 2011 at 21:29 #

She is DIVINE. How chic is this? Heaven.

    • DivaDebbi (Beauty and Fashion Blog) October 24, 2011 at 21:34 #

      +1. Loving this.

      • maria October 24, 2011 at 22:25 #

me to. BDOTW contender for sure.

        • Martin October 25, 2011 at 07:34 #

Best Dressed of the Week contender, without a doubt. This is nothing short of flawless. Love, love, love!

    • Tati M October 25, 2011 at 18:25 #

I totally agree. She is amazing

  12. rosie October 24, 2011 at 21:30 #

I think that the dress looks absolutely stunning on her

Im surprised about how much I like it!

I think this is a lovely look for her, even wearing what can be a difficult length for mortals; but the most heartening aspect of it, to me at least, is that she is finally presenting a healthy weight, not scary-skinny as she was for so many years. She looks terrific!

  14. Parvati October 24, 2011 at 21:33 #

I don’t really like this length, but I think it looks good on Keira! This is a great look on her! The only thing I’d change is the hairstyle – I’d love to see her in a more relaxed but still chic one.

    • Parvati October 24, 2011 at 21:41 #

I checked more photos and I actually like the hairstyle from the side. It’s from the front that I find it a bit weird.

  15. Asia October 24, 2011 at 21:34 #

Love it from head to toe! BDOTW!

  16. Jones19 October 24, 2011 at 21:58 #

Perfection. This was made for Keira.

  17. mol October 24, 2011 at 22:06 #

Keira wears this with cool perfection. I don’t dislike this dress length, but think that it only suits certain people, Keira is one of them. I love the shoes too and can’t imagine this won’t make the BDOTW list!

  18. Georgie October 24, 2011 at 22:42 #

    Stunning, elegant, classy… BDOTW.

  19. Amber October 24, 2011 at 23:31 #

The dress is still too long. Had it been slightly below knee-length, it may have been quite pretty.

  20. becca October 24, 2011 at 23:44 #

    BDOTW. This is stunning

  21. Nat39 October 24, 2011 at 23:54 #

She def. pulls it off, don`t mind the ankle straps in this case as they are very thin. The hairstyle doesn`t flatter her face but works really well with the outfit. The only thing that bothers me here is the awkward hole in the middle of her stomach, cheapens the overall chic.

  22. gurlygurl October 25, 2011 at 00:01 #

This length doesn’t work for everyone but this is stunning. I like the little peek a boo on the torso and the crossover neckline. That little bit of skin balances it all out nicely. I also love the skinny ankle straps. She looks amazing.

  23. lee October 25, 2011 at 00:39 #

wait, WHAT? people don’t like the calf-length? but why!!

  24. Linday October 25, 2011 at 01:08 #

I love Keira’s look! I actually think it looks better on her than the model. I like how the bodice sits lower on her. Those shoes look perfect with the mid length hem. Very elegant.

  25. cara October 25, 2011 at 01:21 #

love it! i also love the length.
BDOTW contender… mind you fan bing bing is hard to beat in my books!

  26. Armaghan October 25, 2011 at 02:31 #

    Simply BEAUTIFUL.

  27. marla October 25, 2011 at 02:55 #

    bdotw contender for me

  28. Natalie October 25, 2011 at 03:42 #

I think the length is fine as long as you work it! And she does, especially since she’s so tall. It’s a gorgeous look.

  29. Sea October 25, 2011 at 05:43 #

it’s an awkward length that many can’t pull off. but she looks so perfect here!

  30. Lily October 25, 2011 at 07:09 #

I’m still not completely sold on the length, but overall I love it!

  31. Jess October 25, 2011 at 07:09 #

love love love it, the skirt is sitting in the perfect position!! BDOTW for sure, perfection!!

  32. thejoyjoyjoy October 25, 2011 at 08:19 #

    she is perfect.

  33. Emi October 25, 2011 at 08:35 #

Beautiful dress, I like her hairstyle and make up, but I think this length would be unflattering on everybody, if the skirt would have been tighter maybe it would have looked better. So, no, I don’t like this neither on Keira.

  34. D October 25, 2011 at 09:22 #

    so love this!!! :)

  35. Zuzu October 25, 2011 at 12:50 #

I like the dress, she looks glamorous… but the hair killed it…

  36. dee October 25, 2011 at 13:27 #

I don’t like how this is fitting on her behind.

  37. thebeautyphilosopher October 25, 2011 at 13:47 #

STUNNING. I think the length is divine and Keira has the perfect physique to pull it off – very 1930s.

  38. Shaina October 25, 2011 at 23:00 #

I am in love with the length. Her look is so simple yet so beautiful. She looks great overall.

  39. Lucía October 26, 2011 at 07:28 #

Why does she look so unhappy recently? (actually it’s been a while now). I can’t like anything of what she’s wearing if she looks like that. Also, I don’t like the top part of the dress, I don’t think it suits her at all…or the hair, or the length. Seems that I’m the only one, but I miss the old Keira that would wear stunning gowns and would always be perfect.

  40. Anne G October 30, 2011 at 05:07 #

I actually like this look on Keira and the slimness of the dress suits her. It is a refreshing look for her as lately she has been hiding in fully lacy gowns.
