Jessie J In Julien Macdonald – 2011 MOBO Awards

Jessie J was a big winner at the 2011 MOBO Awards last night as she took home four out of the five MOBO awards she was nominated for.

The singer walked the red carpet for the first time without her cast, wearing a Julien Macdonald Fall 2011 gown.

Her dramatic gothic chiffon gown with a lace bodice was an unusual choice for an urban awards show, but she was the most original as everyone else opted for short mini dresses.

Jessie’s look was made that much more dramatic with bold red lips and dark eyes against her porcelain skin.

Her trademark bob has been replaced with tumbling dark curls and she accessorized with gold jewels.

Love it or hate it?

morticia addams on the red carpet.

the dress looks bad on her, the hideous blingy earrings look cheap and the large briget jones pants are so off putting.

I don’t like it, I don’t hate it… but I think it’s a bit unflattering, I don’t the make up, a bit too glowing. Not a good look, honestly but considering she’s Jessie J it’s ok, I don’t think she was interested in looking classy or elegant.

The dress itself is nice but the hair and makeup makes this look a little 1993.

Too Elvira, Queen of the Night.

Dress would be fine at he right length, but the make up is awful- she looks about 60. I don’t think the lighting helped her out but no excuse.

    Awful–looks like a vampire.

The only thing I like about this look is the dress itself. I would like to see it on somebody much taller and with simplyfied styling. Red lips are ok with me, but the voluminous curls and tons of gold jewelry is definitely a no go for me.

HATE everything here (except for the pretty hair and bold red lips) – the eye makeup, the gold jewels, the visible “granny panties”, the way and the point at which the skirt is attached to the lace part and hangs lifelessly on her, the overwhelming darkness of the look.

Plus she is not bringing the dark gothic drama with her cheesy pose and smiley attitude. Maybe if she´d worked this dramatic look it wouldn´t have looked so out of place.

For her, I think it almost works. It’s very gothic, and suits her coloring, plus the makeup is right – she’s not washed out, but glowing. My reservation is that it appears to be too long – this may work better on someone taller. Other than that, it’s an interesting but not altogether original, look (it’s very Elvira!)

i totally agree about the length. I also do not like the bronze/golden jewelry pieces with it.

I could hardly recognize her, but she looks great none the less.
