Evan Rachel Wood In Gucci – ‘The Ides Of March’ New York Premiere

Evan Rachel Wood attended yet another premiere for her latest movie, ‘The Ides Of March’ last night.

For the New York premiere she opted to wear a Gucci leather dress from the Fall 2011 collection.

Her merlot leather dress with a scarf detail at the neck was paired with darker berry Gucci trilby hat which several models wore on the runway.

Whilst I love the dress with the matching patent croc pumps, the hat ruins the look for me.

I see where she was going as she loves to be different on the red carpet, but after seeing so many people wearing this type of hat during fashion week, it has lost its appeal on the red carpet.

Definitely agree the hat completely ruins the outfit…Love the leather Gucci dress though!

      I agree.

I love this dress, but it is too long on her and the hat makes it look costume-y….

i agree. i also wish she would have draped the knot like the model on the runway and not into a proper bow.

Agreed. Costume-y is the first thing I though when I saw this. She looks like an extra from a film set in the 1970s…

Exactly what I thought too. I really dislike this look, head to toe.

bored of her already. this look could have been nice without the ridiculous hat. hats and sunglasses really should not be worn on the red carpet.

      +1

I agree. To me the hat makes the dress look like a coat. Love the shoes!

Evan looks ok, but the model looks stunning! (I guess that’s her job).

If she ditched the hat this would have been a nice look.

I usually like her, nut not this time. i don’t like leather dress and the hat is ridiculous.

i am a really big fan of her, but i don’t like the whole look, the hat is horrible and dress is ugly !!!

Hate this. Looks like fancy dress. Another try-hard look from Evan, who I just can’t warm to on the red carpet at all.

What in the Carmen Sandiego hell?

    • Rebecca Z October 6, 2011 at 19:55 #

Too funny. Yes, the dress overwhelms her and she looks like a cartoon. Bad hat, bad bow, bad length, bad pose. She is a lovely young woman–this makes her look about 20 years older and a little nutty.

      LOL!

I am usually so happy to see Evan on the RC, but this is horrible, hate it.

I don’t like the way she tied the bow, but I like the hat. Then again, I’m a big fan of hats and I wasn’t at Fashion Week to see them being worn. Around here, no one ever wears them (unless you count baseball caps and the occasional cowboy hat on a man) and I miss seeing them.

    Carmen Sandiego much?

  13. Those 70s hats take the ‘effortlessness’ out of everything…

She looks like Mrs Inspector Gadget
