Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: September 2011

Julia Stiles looked stunning as she walked the red carpet at the 2011 Emmy Awards in LA tonight.

She wore a Georges Hobeika Fall 2011 Couture gown.

This is truly is an evening of firsts, because this is the first time I have ever liked a Julia Stiles look. She’s sensational.

Her lavender grey strapless lace strapless gown is doing wonders for her. I love the detail in the bodice.

My only problem is that I wish she had considered some support for the twins.

Side swept hair, silver Forevermark jewels, a floral print Kotur box clutch and Rene Caovilla heels completed her look.

Jayma Mays attended the 2011 Emmy Awards in LA this evening.

She wore a gorgeous Zuhair Murad Fall 2011 gown.

I had to sit with this one for a moment, because I was unsure if the look was too cutesy for her.

The colour is heavenly on her light pink cap sleeve gown which has beaded transparent bodice and a tiered beaded tulle skirt.

Her gown is accented with a pink satin ribbon around the waist.

My only concern that the skirt appears a tad uneven at the base as it has been clearly shortened to fit the actress.

A pretty blush Swarovski ‘Party Time’ clutch, punchy pink lips and silver Neil Lane jewels completed her look.

WHAT a knock out.

This is how you kick start the 2011 Emmy Awards.

Usually we have to wait a while for a magic moment, but Nina Dobrev served up a stunning red Donna Karan Resort 2012 gown right from the start.

I’m not usually a fan of Nina’s one-trick pony style, but she will most definitely book herself a place on the Best Dressed list, which I can confidently say after only seeing a few looks.

In black the strapless gown is so so, in red…I die.

Side swept glossy locks, a stunning silver Neil Lane necklace, Brian Atwood heels and clutch completed the look.

This is the one to beat.

You favourite was Fan Bing Bing in Elie Saab Couture this week. I think the new do swung it.

I was head over heels in love with Ashlee Simpson in Temperley London.

Despite many of you saying she was over dressed for a plus one, this is unquestionably the best she’s ever looked so kudos to her.

To get you in the mood for what will hopefully be a very successful Emmy’s red carpet tonight, I bring you Emmy Rossum.

The ‘Shameless’ actress attended the LA Opera’s White Night Season Opening Gala & Premiere Of “Eugene Onegin” At The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in LA last night.

She stunned wearing a Johanna Johnson gown.

Her emerald green strapless bustier gown was complemented with a classic diamond and emerald necklace.

Emmy’s hair was piled high into a bun with a plait circling the bun.

I love her beautiful red lips and how her necklace falls down her back.

I challenge everyone at the Emmy’s to beat this, because this is truly breath-taking.

Jonathan Saunders’ Spring 2012 tropical colour palette which had me in a trance from look 1.

The fruity collection mixed neon pink, lime green, lemon and orange with paisley prints which is fast becoming the designers’ signature.

I’m certain we will see Samantha Cameron wearing this collection as the designer served up many Lady-like pieces which would be perfect for her formal occasions.

Among the ultra-feminine dresses we saw silky tops, 50s-style full skirts, satin pants, lightweight colourful blazers paired with ombre print dress, sheer chiffon cami’s were paired with satin midi skirts.

For the red carpet we saw a sexy black long sleeve embroidered dress which also came in a full-length white version. The final white dress with chiffon sleeves deserves to be worn by someone statuesque like Erin O”Connor or Tilda Swinton.

The models tresses were perfectly coiffed by Paul Hanlon for Fekkai whilst the MAC team applied wing-tipped eyeliner.

Christian Louboutin provided the wedges and sandals which were just as colourful as the collection.
