Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Monthly Archives: September 2011

Richard Nicoll’s Spring 2012 presentation showcased a beautiful dreamy collection of soft pastel pieces on a baby blue, aqua, pink, black and silver colour palette.

Sheer fabrics were layered to give a long, lean, silhouette.

I loved the babydoll shapes, which would make great red carpet mini dress or they could be worn as tunics with a great pair of pants.

We saw underwear showcased as outerwear, loose fitting pants and tops which had a pyjama-like feel them, plus some floral print pieces which were modern and sleek like the rest of this collection.

From this collection I guess that Richard wants us to be comfortable next Spring whilst still being ultra feminine and sexy.

Sam Bryant used Mac cosmetics to give the models a ‘natural’ fresh skin feel. ‘Stick flicks’ were created by using black eyeliner.

Manolo Blahnik provided the footwear.

Favourites: Plastic t-shirt layered over a vest top and paired with a short skirt and drop-waist aqua maxi dress

Who I See Wearing This Collection: Kate Bosworth, Leighton Meester, Nicola Roberts, Solange Knowles, Rihanna and Florence Welch

Zooey Deschanel looked lovely at the 2011 Emmy Awards last night.

The actress donned a Monique Lhuillier Resort 2012 bubble pink gown.

Her silk faille gown with drop waist and red self tie was paired with Stuart Weitzman ‘Femina’ pumps.

I love the Princessy vibe to this look.

I can also picture this gown on Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and Anne Hathaway.

Van Cleef & Arpels and a half up-half down hairstyle completed her look.

Kristen Stewart and Kate Moss were front row at the 10am Mulberry show which I attended yesterday. It was so cute to see the young star and supermodel deep in conversation like they were old friends.

Kristen Stewart: The actress is currently in the UK shooting a new movie. She opted to wear a summery Mulberry ‘Neely’ Resort 2012 striped dress with a striped belt. I love the dress, but I wish she’d worn the same heels as the model instead of these midnight blue Mulberry ‘Braided’ booties. I get why she picked these boots as they work with her style.

Kate Moss: The super breezed in wearing a double denim Mulberry Resort 2012 look. The jury is still out on whether I like double denim, but both Kate and Charlize Theron know how to rock it. I found Kate to be very charming.

Olivia Palermo: The front row London Fashion Week regular also wore a look from the Mulberry Resort 2012 collection. Her fuchsia pink metallic top was paired with Hudson Nico skinny jeans, Mulberry bow front pumps and a Mulberry ‘Harriet’ clutch from the Resort 2012 collection.

Anna Dello Russo: The Street Style photographers favourite wore a floral Jil Sander Fall 2011 dress to which she added an orange belt. She also added black pointy ankle boots, but she’s forgiven as she carried a gorgeous yellow Bottega Veneta clutch plus a Gucci snake-skin tote.

Olivia is my favourite here.

Mulberry’s Spring 2012 presentation took place yesterday with two showings in the morning.

As we waited to enter the venue we were treated to ice cream and bottles of pink lemonade which came courtesy of a Mulberry branded vintage ice cream van.

Upon entering the Claridges ballroom it felt like we were walking into a fantasy land full of blow up animals and model ice cream cones.

The next room was the runway decked out like an English beach with sparkling pier lights and fun fair models with “I do like to be beside the seaside” playing in the background.

The collection had a sportswear meets vintage feel with colourful pieces we could wear right now.

We saw hooded trenches, layered sheer long skirts, leggings under dresses, drawstring shorts, column dresses, maxi dress, skirts, macs, gold windbreakers and cropped jackets.

The striped candy pink, mint green and lemon sherbet pieces reminded me of a Twister ice lolly. The rest of the colour palette included fudge, marshmallow white plus navy, black and gold.

The models walked down the runway with Barbarella teased tresses by Sam McKnight. Mathias van Hooff ensured the models has a dewy English Rose glow.

Key accessories were of course the bags which included a brand new Travel Collection. The Alexa and Lily bags were updated with cute teddy rivets and twist locks.

For your pooch keep them warm and dry with a Doggy Rain Mac in blue or lemon sherbet.

Jane Krakowski also attended the 2011 Emmy Awards last night.

She wore a look from her go-to designer, J. Mendel.

Her lightweight lame gown with a pleated skirt is stunning, but I can’t get passed the tan.

It’s almost tomato red than orange and it totally puts me off liking this look.

I love Jane and J. Mendel so this stings.

Casadei heels and Lorraine

Before the Issa Spring 2012 presentation there was talk of Pippa Middleton attending.

Thankfully she didn’t attend because that way we could concentrate on this beautiful colourful collection.

Daniella Helayel transported us to Rio de Janeiro with a collection which was full of tropical colours, print motifs and fun, flirty fabrics.

Bootylicious bathing suits were showcased alongside sexy fringed cocktail dress, prim day dresses, signature figure-flattering shift dresses, maxi dresses, kaftans, sweaters and jumpsuits.

Milliner Stephen Jones created the fascinators and Aquazzura provided the strappy sandals.

Samantha Hillerby at Toni & Guy recreated bouncy glossy locks a la Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, whilst Kay Montano at D+V management made up the models using Eudora.
