Leelee Sobieski opted for something very different whilst attending the 2011 Metropolitan Opera Season’s opening night performance of ‘Anna Bolena’ in New York City last night.
The blonde actress, who many of you said reminds you of a young Sharon Stone, is just as daring as she wore a Mary Katrantzou ‘Kite Runner’ printed silk-jacquard dress from the Fall 2011 collection.
Her multi-coloured printed silk-jacquard, racer back, fishbowl-print dress with a structured bell-shaped skirt and an additional underskirt, was paired with some unfortunately forest green booties.
This look would’ve been amazing with the right pair of shoes.

Thank you Keira Knightley . You opened quite a few eyes. Looooooooove the dress, hate the shoes.
+1.
A tad casual for the Met opening too.
+ 2. But why those shoes? it’s a mystery, for me.
As an overall look this is just not good, IMO. The bored/Kristen Stewart facial expression, the conjunctivitis eye makeup, the awkward pose adn the boots are just so bad. The saddest thing is that Mary Katratzou’s dresses are always some of the best on the red carpet, sadly so few ad far between, but I can tell you that had someone worn this properly, someone like Kate Bosworth, Leighton Meester and Zoe Saldana, who just make clothes chic, and ankle boot-free, it could have been on my BDOTY list.
Stongly agree. Its a huge waste of a $4,000 dress
Agree as well.
conjunctivitis eye makeup – so funny and so true.
I totally agree with what you are saying.
I agree with you, too. The make up is terrible, looking at the close-up.
My thought was, such a fun dress, too bad she doesn’t look like she’s enjoying herself. Such a sour expression.
The shoes aren’t amazing, but I think she looks good. The overall look she’s going for works for me.
+1
The shoes choice, sad about it!
she really puts no life into this outfit. the bored look on her fact and the footwear. what a shame this dress could have been a knock out on the right person.
I don’t like this at all. The shoes are just wrong for this dress and I think LeeLee Sobieski can’t pull it off. Maybe it’s just that I’m not used to seeing her dressed in this style. Nonetheless, I think someone with more attitude would have done this dress justice.
The hair, make-up and shoes are not good, but oh my, how I love the dress! The print is so amazing, the cut is perfect and it fits her so well! What a shame that the rest is not at the dress level!
She hasn’t got the swagger of Sharon Stone, but she’s a dead ringer for Helen Hunt. Apparently her husband is a menswear designer.
Yes, I see that resemblance. This is a great dress, but she doesn’t have the attitude to carry it off … her expression suggests that someone just made a “fishy” joke.
+1
love the dress!!
She actually reminds me more of Helen Hunt physically…..
Shoe swap time!!!!
