Donatella Versace took us under the sea for her Versace Spring 2012 collection.
The marine life theme translated into starfish, seashells, mermaids and seahorses which appeared in prints, studs and sequin embellishments.
On a colour palette of lemon, lilac, sea blue, white and mint green, Donatella showcased pencil skirts paired with bandeau tops, short sets, studded biker jackets, mini-skirts with flounced hemlines, and sleeveless dresses with draped details.
Within the middle of the collection we saw a selection of mostly embellished LBDs which made your eyes water.
Signature sexy, figure-hugging gowns – which we will most definitely see on the red carpet – followed.
Liz Hurley will be in her element as most had thigh-high splits.
Key accessories included studded clutches and bags plus Lucite wedges.
The models had big, bouncy blow-outs courtesy of Guido Palau, whilst their makeup was soft and fresh with perfectly sculpted brows thanks to Pat McGrath.

My favourite collection!
I love the palette and the vibe…looks like Capri in the 60′s.
Love Guido’s big bouncy hair and the divine Pat McGrath can do no wrong, in my book. Met her at FW in NY. She is sooo warm, exuberant and gracious…would like to have kidnapped her and take her to dinner.
She’s a big bundle of joy. I adore and worship her.
This collection could be a continuation of Versace spring 2010 collection. The shoes, the hair, the color palette, the venue design, the miniskirt-jacket combos.. but still a great collection.
oh.. soo beautiful… the world of edgy spring.. very smart collection.. sure to be a hit and the studs look like the versace for H&M dress Donatella was wearing..
i like the studded dresses and the draped pleated detail. Not sure about the sea horses and sea shell prints.. .not my favourite.
