Natalia Vodianova In Givenchy Couture – Raisa Gorbachev Foundation

Natalia Vodianova looked breathtaking as she walked the red carpet at the Raisa Gorbachev Foundation’s annual party which was held at Stud House, Hampton Court in London last night.

The Russian model wore a Givenchy Fall 2011 Couture gown.

Her off-white silk tulle gown decorated with feathers and Chantilly lace was worn with a gold belt.

Some lesser mortals would’ve struggled to pull this off, but as a supermodel this look is effortless for Natalia.

She completed her BDOTW-worthy look with a bold orangey red lip colour, a simple updo and a gold and silver crystal box Givenchy clutch.

I really don’t like this dress–the shape of the feather ruffle hanging over the pelvis is bad enough but then you add a see through skirt and it just looks like an advertisement for her crotch. But she looks fabulous from the waist up.

the heavenly dress looks even better on natalia than the model.

It is a very tricky dress to pull off… but she looks charming in it. I love the pop of red on her lips.

The top is fine, the sheer bottom covers borders on skanky, but the waist area is awful. The feathers on the waist are much too thick. Even this ultra skinny model can’t pull off this dress.

Ditto. NOONE (!) can possibly pull off this “look at my granny panties while I`m choking on feathers” dress. This dress is simply not meant to be pulled off. The hairstyle doesn`t flatter her face either.

I agree, it should work but it doesn’t, not at all

This is the stuff fairy tales are made of. Parfait!

  6. Linda September 23, 2011 at 17:13 #

Oh, yes! She looks breathtaking. She breathes life into it, as FC would say. BDOTW for sure.

Ouuuuuu how very morangue… and not in a good way. It accentuates the crotch and looks tarty and cheap.

Stunning. I don’t like the dress in the model but Natalia brings it to life. BDOTW nominee indeed.

      *on the model, not in…lol

  9. robbie September 23, 2011 at 18:14 #

it makes her look chunky, and the sheer skirt is trashy.

Love the hair, makeup and jewels. It has a Bjork in swan costume vibe to me.

  12. Oh yes. I absolutely love this on her. The vibrant red lips make it look fun and vivacious!

Ok call me crazy but I don’t like it at all !!

    • Fashion Critic September 23, 2011 at 21:33 #

You’re not the only one from reading the comments, so you are not crazy :)

  14. Zineb September 23, 2011 at 20:58 #

I hope it doesn’t make it to the BDOTW poll cause she’s not not gonna get many votes especially with the rude competition against the amazing ladies at the Emmys !

    Well I think it’s outstanding!Beautifully dramatic

I love the dress! I din’t even noticed the panties before I read the comments, The lipstick has a great colour and she looks great. But I couldn’t help but notice her ears! :) I’m stuck with the fairy hears!

    • Barbs September 24, 2011 at 01:55 #

      * didn’t…ears

  19. Elizabeth September 24, 2011 at 03:58 #

I don’t mind the sheer skirt, but the feathers are overwhelming, especially when combined with the turtleneck. It looks like they’re swallowing her.

  20. Erini September 24, 2011 at 05:50 #

I think she pulls it off, am not crazy about the sheer bottom half- but this is couture- it’s art!

  21. Sea September 24, 2011 at 08:20 #

she’s worn this type of gowns before, and imho she’s THE only person who can pull it off.
