Antonio Berardi’s Spring 2012 collection proved that the designer continues to focus on empowering women with smart suits and sexy temptress dresses.
In some cases his warrior women looked like they were wearing armour with bold-shouldered cropped jackets, padded shoulders on dresses, blazers and vests, plus embellishments on dresses which looked like body armour.
I loved the romantic baroque prints on several pieces. They made me crane my neck to get a closer look.
For daywear we saw summery, floaty chiffon dresses, fitted dresses, skirt suits, vests paired with cropped fitted pants and embroidered tops, sheer blouses paired with fitted skirts, blazers, jumpsuits and wide-legged pants.
Antonio’s huge celebrity fanbase will love the red-carpet-ready looks which ranged from drop-dead gorgeous gowns to flirty fluid chiffon embellished dresses with rise and fall hemlines. Some of these pieces were paired with bejewelled pants.
Key accessories included Manolo Blahnik ankle boots, belts and clutches which provided pops of green plus ruby red, black and nude.
Favourites: Blush blazer paired with bejewelled pants and red gown with padded shoulders
Who I See Wearing This Collection: Anna Paquin, Leighton Meester, Kate Bosworth, Olivia Wilde, Noomi Rapace, Anna Friel, Poppy Delevigne, Emily Browning, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Renée Zellweger, Eva Mendes and Jessica Alba

I really like the white dress with red embellishments in the second photo! I hope we’ll see it on the red carpet, on someone who will do it justice!
Agree!
I like it too, but I am so over mullet dresses.
I know, I’m not a big fan of the mullet dresses, too, but these red embellisments look so pretty on the dress that I don’t mind the length.
Would love to see that white halter dress with red detailing (2nd from left) on Gwyneth!
