On Tuesday I attended the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2012 presentation during New York Fashion Week.
The show started with a bang as vibrant marigold, emerald and tomato red ballgowns with lace bodices swept the runway.
We saw a selection of classic tailored suits which the designer’s clientele love for their refined elegance.
Day dresses ranged from fitted with floral prints, embroidered with a fringed hem and full skirts which swished down the runway.
I loved the opulent Elizabethan pink gown with blousant sleeves which had a fairytale princess feel to it, as did the daffodil strapless gown.
I was floored by the red carpet ready gowns. I was in my element seeing my favourite model – Karlie Kloss – wearing my favourite colour – electric blue – with a black beaded necklace.
Feathers adorned many pieces. I particularly loved the pink strapless gown worn by Lindsey above.
Key accessories included strappy sandals paired with sock from ‘We Love Colors’, embroidered heels, embellished clutches, crystallized minaudières, leather shoulder bags, wedges and crocodile clutches.
Orlando Pita created a ‘romantic, renaissance’ look for the models by giving them crinkled frizzy voluminous tresses. Inspired by Grace Coddington perhaps.
Front Row: Valentino Garavani, Barbara Walters, Justin Timberlake, Ashley Olsen, Nicki Minaj was again seated next to her new BFF Anna Wintour
Favourites: Print twill dress with matching scarf, ostrich feather and sequin top paired with chiffon draped skirt and electric blue tiered ruffle gown
Who I See Wearing This Collection: Hilary Swank, Fan Bing Bing, Rosamund Pike, Anne Hathaway, Kristin Davis, Paz Vega, Jordana Brewster, Jessica Chastain, Mila Kunis, Iman, Jayma Mays, Lea Michele, Monica Bellucci, Alexis Bledel, Eva Longoria, Anna Wintour, Sofia Vergara, Sarah Jessica Parker, Barbara Walters, Eva Mendes, Demi Moore, Jennifer Garner and Freida Pinto

I would love to see the pink strapless gown on Freida Pinto.
I love the green bottom gown.
love it. I wonder who can pull off the Elisabethean one. That’s bold for a red carpet.
Hmmm, Cate Blanchett?
By far one of my favorite collections of this past week. Pure amazeballs. We will be seeing many of these gowns on the carpet in the months to come.
Chefs- D’Oeuvres
WOW, i am stuned!, damn i even dare to say, that this is the BEST collection i have ever seen of Oscar de la Renta. Those gowns are magnificent.
wow, i have no words.
I agree. This is one of his best.
Karlie emanates confidence – I love her look on the runway
Also, I am dying for that daffodil gown
I adored this collection, easily one of his best one sin recent years, and with so many options for so many different people. Gorgeous, I cannot wait to see some of these in the coming months.
II heard it was spectacular and it is! Missed it.
Did see J. Mendel yesterday (fabulous, whistle clean but always more exciting for Fall because of the fur factor).
Chado Ralph Rucci was extraordinary…a standing ovation! Took my breath away. I think both Oscar and Chado RR will be considered two of the best this week.
Gorgeous collection! I can also see SJP wearing some of the pieces.
