Mia Wasikowska promoted her new movie “Restless” during the 2011 Toronto Film Festival last week.
For the Premiere she wore a Gucci Fall 2011 shirtdress.
Her black and white houndstooth print long sleeve shirtdress features a bow detail at neck and waist.
Mia only added a pair of simple black pointed-toe pumps and red lipstick to her look.
I like the shirtdress, but I would have loved some bold accessories added to this look.
Maybe in red to match her lipstick.
A more polished hairstyle would’ve lifted this look also.

Very chic, i like it a lot, maybe a clutch would have add something, though.
This is very much her style and she looks nice but this doesn’t float my boat really.
I find this look too plain and casual. A few accessories and maybe a different hairdo would have improved it.
It’s too matronly. Makes me think of something Alexa Chung would wear.
+1
Alexa Chung came to my mind immediately (hope she didn`t plant a poisonous trend) esp. combined with this hair, just add some ugly weird looking shoes to “compliment” the silly doubled bow detail on her dress, and voila – “You’ve been “Alexa Chunged”
Agree about adding some interesting (and flattering!) accessories in red to this look.
Wow, she looks like a wet dog. Hair/makeup is terrible, it makes her skin look yellow. She really needs to get it together, honestly I wouldn’t leave my house looking like that.
I think it just looks sloppy and frumpy – and I dislike the length, which is neither fish nor fowl. A different belt might help, but overall this lacks punch and shape.
Mia aged herself about 20 years in this one. I thought I was looking at a much older version of herself. I do not like this look at all.
boring
She looks like she’s on her way to a 9-5 office job, not a premiere.
Hate this look. It reminds me of a frumpy school secretary….. I wonder if she can type! LOL
i really feel bad because she is such a beautiful woman (she looks stunning in movies) but somehow it does not translate onto the red carpet. She is definitely in need of a stylist. I cannot even begin to imagine what they could do with her luminous skin.
Hi FC! I love your blog! I’m a huge fan!
Anyone else getting a Claire Danes vibe (not style-wise, but looks-wise)?
thanks Wyatt xx
I actually thought it was her at 1st
The dress is soo.. (no words)..
Snooze.
I just checked her age and found out she was 21. It is just so stereotypical librarian, from the unruly eyebrows and slightly off makeup, not one single thing works.
@ Wyatt-Good catch!
She looks like a 2nd grade teacher.
She went from looking like an earthier, younger Gwyneth Paltrow (long hair) or an 80s TV star Deborah Raffin to looking like Christopher Baily (short hair) to now like Claire Dane. In “Alice in Wonderland,” she kind of looked like Ben Barnes (Caspian of the Narnia movie series). I remember all these resemblances, but never her style. Her style is not casual or minimalistic. It’s just non-existent.
