Jessica Chastain In Viktor & Rolf – “Coriolanus” Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Jessica Chastain attended the Toronto Film Festival Premiere of yet another one of her movies, “Coriolanus” on Monday night.

The beautiful actress chose a look from Viktor & Rolf’s Resort 2012 collection.

Her saffron yellow one-shouldered gown features a darker yellow trim and tie which is knotted above the neckline.

She chose to tuck the tie in at the waist with a thick patent leather belt.

Jessica accessorized her look with gorgeous black, diamond-embellished platform heels and Jack Vartanian jewelry, including a black ring and tiny black studs.

It’s a stunning dress.  I love how she vamped up the look with dark lips and nail polish.

Her updo is fab on this occasion as it’s not as severe or aging as it has been in the past.

I like her, I like the dress, BUT I don’t like them together.

I prefer the way it was show on the runway to the way she styled it. Very pretty hair and makeup.

Such a shame seeing the two variations next to one-another – while Jessica looks stunning, she still manages to completely pale compared to the runway version.

I agree. I think having the tie loose looks better, the way she wears it belted kind of loses the allure of the dress design.

She looks ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. This is a color I wish we saw more often on the red carpet (think Diane Kruger in the mustard Jason Wu gown). BDOTW?

    • Elena September 14, 2011 at 15:47 #

BDOTW. I could tell I would love it just by the thumbnail! Fantastic… the color alone… *swoon* I am starting to develope a huge girl crush on her.

  4. Rebecca Z September 14, 2011 at 05:27 #

I think this is totally amazing. BDOTW nominee for sure.

I love this make-over from her; the dress, hair and make-up are amazing.

  6. katchimo September 14, 2011 at 05:54 #

I love it. I like that she tucked in the tie too since in real life it would probably not hang very well.

  7. Teleholic September 14, 2011 at 05:54 #

I have always been in love with red heads wearing yellow. This one’s got mustard undertones and I prefer the way she styled it over the model. She looks fantastic. Outstanding.

  8. Lola September 14, 2011 at 06:06 #

+1…she doesn’t have the umph to carry it off.

It’s again a hair issue. Down would have been nicer. Hairstylists: Gown does not equal updo everytime!!!

  10. Amanda September 14, 2011 at 07:03 #

    SHE LOOKS AMAZING…WOW!

  11. Emi September 14, 2011 at 07:46 #

I like this dress, I prefer the way she wore the panel and I love her hairstyle.

  12. Fede September 14, 2011 at 07:55 #

    Love this outfit on her!

  13. Lei September 14, 2011 at 09:22 #

Love the dress but she looks bored so the dress looks like its wearing her! shame really!

    • amber September 15, 2011 at 15:31 #

agree. really love the dress. but she herself look dead. goesnt give any life or personality to this dress at all.

  14. Valeria September 14, 2011 at 09:24 #

His color doesn’t look good in her, and I hate lip makeup-looks like she is a goth teenager who overused lipstain

  15. Marvel September 14, 2011 at 13:29 #

I like the dress but not her in it.
She is so life-less in all of her looks. The only look that was good on her was Ellie Saab at the Venice Festival and that was mainly because all the dress did the talking. A great dress but boring on her. (This would have looked great on someone like Eva Mendes or Eva Longoria)

    • taksi September 14, 2011 at 17:26 #

I agreed. Something’s missing. I feel it with Emma Stone and Mila Kunis sometimes too. But they got better with the more events they did, and I’m sure Jessica will too.

      • Marvel September 14, 2011 at 19:54 #

I dont get it from Emma or Mila but definitelyfrom this girl and other

  16. Jones19 September 14, 2011 at 14:13 #

All the elements are there but Jessica looks utterly bored to be there in this gorgeous dress. I wish someone who knew how to work a gown was wearing this.

  17. Laura September 14, 2011 at 15:04 #

I like it a lot. BDOTW contender for me!

  18. shaphalf September 14, 2011 at 15:57 #

I generally like Jessica’s style, and this dress is gorgeous, but I think all the whimsy, playfulness and drama of this gown is completely lost on her. Maybe it’s just in this one photo? The way it looks on the model in the lookbook shot is just more appealing to me, from the way the straps are tied to the positioning of the belt behind the draping fabric.

  19. Parvati September 14, 2011 at 18:09 #

This is a beautiful look, but I’m not a fan of the hairdo and I also wish she smiled in this photo.

  20. DivaStyle September 14, 2011 at 21:23 #

She looks dead in the face and this bold beautiful color is washing her out! Its a lovely dress, just not on Ms. Chastain!

I can’t remember if Jessica has worn this label, as I don’t keep track of such things, but I’d like to see her in a McQueen. I think it’d suit girls with slightly mature faces yet give them an edge, vs. the very predictable, made-for-women Oscar de la Renta or Carolina Herrera. Another such actress I can think of is Rachel Weisz. Sorry … sidetracked. I’m underwelmed by this look. Great color, but I’m not a fan of V&R.

This is such a beautiful dress
