Donna Karan’s Spring 2012 presentation took place on Monday during New York Fashion Week.
I wasn’t prepared for the tribal explosion, but I loved the unpredictable change of direction.
The wearable tribal pieces were inspired by Donna’s recent trips to Haiti.
Whilst the influences were strong, the designer still incorporated her signature draping on several pieces.
We saw earthy rustic colours, alongside vibrant purple and lemon.
The strong prints and paint splashed prints made a strong breath-taking impact as they hit the runway.
Key accessories included wooden statement necklaces, fold-over python clutches, wooden clutches and fringed bracelets.

The halter tribal print dress would look beautiful on Zoe Saldana.
Wow. Totally unexpected. That crisscross halter dress needs to be in my closet. Liking the shoes too.
That was my favorite dress, too. I would wear it for sure! Really flattering shape on that baby!
I die for that burnt orange dress…. this is a fantastic collection..
I’m not sure I would have guessed this was DK if I didn’t know. Not her usual palette. Im intrigued. I can see why you liked it FC. I am going to check out the rest of the collection on Style.com
Had I not attended I wouldn’t have guessed it was Donna Karan too. Love this collection
Same here. This is a different direction but a very good one!
This is a wonderful collection. I want about half of them.
