US Open Style: Anna Wintour In YSL

Despite a full schedule of shows during New York Fashion Week, Anna Wintour is still finding time for her first love…tennis.

She’s been spotted front row at Derek Lam and Rag & Bone’s Spring 2012 presentations, but this week she was at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows, New York watching the US Open Tennis Championship.

The editor-in-chief of American Vogue wore a YSL Resort 2012 dress.

Her dress was presented as a cute mini floral shirt dress, but Anna’s version is considerably longer and it has a round neckline.

Anna’s favourite accessories were in place; Manolo’s, beaded antique Georgian collet necklace and oversized shades.

I don’t really like the print.

  2. Rach September 13, 2011 at 17:34 #

    I think she looks great.

The best part of her look is the necklace, but I don’t think it looks that great witht he dress. You really can’t see it that well because it gets sorta lost in the print.

I like the dress, but would wear different shoes and jewelry with it. You’d like someone like Wintour would be a bit more creative…..

Her trademark necklaces are antique Georgian collet necklaces. They cost the earth but there are a few labels out there making replicas (none very good though, IMO).

I actually like how she will often just wear a dress and a necklace and call it an outfit. This is a nice summer look for a very hot day. Not crazy about the shoes, but am more than grateful that she has the good sense not to go for the mini skirt.

I love how she loves tennis and is not afraid of prints but please Anna it must Not
Be nice that everytime you watch your favorite federer he loses!!

That dress loses its spunk once lengthened like Anna Wintour’s.

She looks fine but its just blah age is no excuse to be boring. Compared to other vogue editors like emmanuelle alt and former carine roitfeld, she just dresses bad. Grace Coddington is the true start behind US vogue, and she doesnt get recognized enough for it.

Not the face, please, not the face! I’ll have nightmares about her again.

love the look just wish she would get some new shoes and maybe some new necklaces. out of all the shoes manolo has created she seems to stick to the same ones all the time.

Thanks to her same old same old accessories, all of her looks completed with the wig-like hair start blending into one.
In this case, I`d gladly exchange the oversized necklace which is way too heavy and glamorous for this light summery floral dress for a nice thin belt.

    Same old same old.

well if i had a place in federer’s box i would hang out there as much as i could 😀 anna looks like anna, nothing special!

    • maria September 12, 2011 at 17:35 #

i was in the stadium. She actually was not in their box….to my surprise. She was in a block close to Bradley Cooper and Ben Stiller.

You can say what you want about her style, i saw her from the distance coming down the stairs and said – that is Anna Wintour. It’s not bad being so recognizable. I think at her age it would be difficult following the trends of the runway without some alterations. It’s very graceful and regal as the poster above said.

      • noo September 13, 2011 at 01:52 #

        1) well that’s a new one, i rather enjoy seeing her take gum from mirka federer, hopefully she joins the federer clan sometime soon 😀

        2) although this particular look is not special, i would kill to be that consistent with my style when i’m her age, and it’s like the bob goes in and out of style but hers is an exception, always classic 😀

  18. sergioA September 12, 2011 at 16:29 #

Cannot get enough of her… she is so regal!

  19. claudio September 12, 2011 at 16:16 #

it looks like ana is the only one who is able to pick ANY interesting look from runway and make it look boring.

    • Lil's September 12, 2011 at 17:06 #

i couldn’t have said it better!

  20. Rebecca Z September 12, 2011 at 16:03 #

BORING! This woman needs to try something new.

    • lola September 12, 2011 at 16:47 #

+1…incredibly unbelievable to be so UNinnovative in her position – she is annoying…

      • Eva September 12, 2011 at 17:30 #

        sooooo true….

    • Betty Brandenburg September 12, 2011 at 18:07 #

Could not disagree more. She dresses better than many women who grace this site daily. She’s classy, has her own style, and clearly knows what suits her. i think she’s a star. And FC, could anyone please please find out where that necklace comes from? I would take out another mortgage for it!
