Yigal Azrouel presented his contemporary Cut25 Spring 2012 collection in the trendy meat-packing district on Sunday afternoon during New York Fashion Week.
It was certainly one of the most interesting presentations I’ve attended this week.
Models stood on a grid, before taking it in turns to walking the runway before returning to the grid one square down.
The designer was inspired by the 80s surf culture and this was evident with his use of electric colours, techno-washed fabrics and multi-dimensional layering.
We saw slouchy knits, colourful mini dresses, maxi dresses, drawstring shorts, body suits, silky separates, neon bandeau’s and a denim jumpsuit.
The sporty Cut25 girl dons Cut25 x Frye lace-up boots or wooden platform heels, custom jewelry by Holst + Lee, a black sun-visor and Thierry Lasry sunglasses.
