Coach hosted a star-studded dinner party to celebrate the opening of the first European flagship store on London’s New Bond Street. The opening coincides with the brand’s 70th anniversary celebrations this year.
Gwyneth Paltrow was the guest of honor as the newest face of the brand.
She opted to wear a citrus-coloured Lanvin crepe-jersey draped cocktail dress with a twisted shoulder detail from the Resort 2012 collection.
Her bright dress was accessorized with a Coach snakeskin clutch, a pretty diamond chain link necklace and red peep-toe ankle booties.
Gwyneth finished her lovely summery look with straight locks and barely there makeup.
That is the 3rd pair of red shoes we have seen on the red carpet this week.
I detect a new red carpet trend.

Love the entire look but her face looks a bit too orange. Is that just me?
Love the dress.
gorgeous
I like the dress, even if I don’t like orange, but the color of the shoes is not a good match. Plus, I hate snakeskin clothes, accessories etc. In the end, I don’t like this look.
I agree with you. Snakeskin items give me the creeps, and I don’t think the shoes work with this dress.
The color looks good on her, and I really like her necklace. I think I would have worn a rose gold metallic shoe with this dress, and picked a different clutch.
Oh yes, the necklace is beautiful.
But I absolutely love red shoes!!!
Gorgeous color of that dress!
Hi FC,
Do you have the picture and dress ID of what thandie Newton wore to this event ? She looked fab in a floral dress and crystal shoes.
Yes, it will follow later…
Zarina and I are working hard to bring you all the looks so we thank you for your patience.
love the red shoes with the orange! Jimmy Choo i’m guessing?
Nothng really works for me here, the dress is ok but the colour is too flourescent and sherberty for my taste. The shoes are jsut hideous, especially with the dress, and the necklace adn bag especially seem forced. There is no natural flow to the outfit, it seems very contrived.
+1
love the dress and accessories, but i don’t like the shoes. the colour is fine but they don’t look like booties but slip ons.
Not a big fan of the dress–I like the color but the fabric makes it look cheap and bottom is too tight for the voluminous top–or maybe it is the other way around. She looks great in the close-up shot.
I love the red booties! She always does something that is that little extra touch. Love her
Love her here. The color is really vibrant and great. Not sure about the shoe color though.
Very few women manage to look good in orange!
FC, do you know who designed the coat she wore upon arrival: http://cache3.asset-cache.net/xc/123991393.jpg?v=1&c=IWSAsset&k=2&d=77BFBA49EF8789219B309651A2344B3FB02430A8D02D51FF1AD8451D8A6E46AD608499813C29AFD9E30A760B0D811297 ?
I assume you’re going to NY for FW, have fun!

I like the pieces individually — but orange, red, and gray snakeskin just don’t go together.
I’m not crazy about the shoes, but I LOVE this dress!
I love the outfit. I think she wears this bright color well, and the dress flatters her. I love the gray snakeskin clutch with it, as it adds texture without adding color, and I like the unexpectedness of the red shoes.
The necklace is a little off, but not terrible. There’s already a lot going on at the neckline of the dress. A bright, chunky gold cuff on the arm with the bare shoulder would have been a better choice, and balanced the look well
Stunning, I would have never put a orange dress and red shoes but it looks fine.
I love the dress and I love Gwyneth in the dress but the red booties do not quite fit with this lovely dress. These shoes and the clutch are just wrong, they don’t really tie the look together. With different shoes, the clutch could be alright. I love the dress… this is a shame!
