Doutzen Kroes attended the private Missoni for Target launch party held in New York City last night.
The model and actress chose to wear a Stella McCartney panelled polka dot dress from the Fall 2011 collection.
Her sexy, revealing dress is one of the signature pieces from Stella McCartney’s collection.
The stretch dress features sheer sections with small polka dots.
It’s similar, but not the same as Kate Winslet’s Stella McCartney dress.
Doutzen added a nude slip underneath and accessorized with a pair of pointed-toe black velvet pumps.
She wore her hair up in a chic ponytail and completed her look with glowing, flawless makeup.
You have to make a bold decision to wear this look and whilst I don’t condone going commando, I hate the nude slip. It kills the look stone dead for me.

totally agree. This look is Two Thumbs DOWN. If you’re gonna go sheer, you’ve got to embrace it appropriately. What she did to this dress is an abomination.

Oh noes, I adore Doutzen but the nude slip was a mistake. I’ll admit that wearing that dress takes courage but if you do it, you have to go all the way. I’m highly against anything slutty (Hello WAG whose name I can’t remember! The one from 2 days ago.) but I really don’t think this dress is anywhere near it so what’s the problem?

It’s like Renne Zelwegger at the 2009 Golden Globes in Carolina Herrera with the sheer top and white bra underneath – Listen, I don’t blame you for not wanting to go commando and have your vadge or nips cold all not, but don’t wear a see through garment with a conspiscous bra or panty or slip underneath! wear something else if you don’t have the balls! (no pun intended)
Apart from the hair and make-up, absolutely HATE everything else: the dress itself – ATROCIOUS (hated the other one on Kate too) with all these ridiculouis sheer panels and the abominable polka dot typhus rash all over the body; the not so good shoe choice, and that awful slip is a real MURDERER!!! Very unpleasing to MY eye.

Yes, I think black might have actually worked better. Actually making a point out of wearing it. Still, I think if you want to wear this dress, the only 100% acceptable option is to go without.

I agree Zarina. The nude slip completely takes this look from daring and sexy, to boring.
There are ways to make a look like this work, even with so many shear panels (take note Abbey Clancy). Look at Anja Rubik modelling this on the runway (who by the way, I think is gorgeous and I have a major crush on) carries this off with confidence and poise, and if she wore this right off the runway, I’d probably pass out at how beautiful she looks. Kate Winslet even carried off that same elegance when she wore her (considerably less exposed) Stella McCartney dress a few months back.
I totally agree it’s all or nothing the nude slip ruins it.

I didn’t like at all the Stella McCartney dress on Kate Winslet back then, so when I saw Doutzen Kroes, I immediately thought that I really liked it on her, until I noticed the nude slip underneath. I understand why she wore it, but still, like you said, it ruins the look.

I think Doutzen is a flawless goddess from Heaven but even I can’t defend this. She could have at least picked some nude panties instead of a full-on slip. Or better yet, go commando.

Yessss absolutely. That nude slip kills the look. She should have either gone without or lengthened the nude slip to the length of the dress. As it is, the slip cheapens the outfit.
