Katy B In D&G – 2011 Barclaycard Mercury Prize

Katy B won a Barclaycard Mercury Prize Award at the lavish ceremony held at the Grosvenor House in London tonight.

The quirky singer wore a D&G Fall 2011 long sleeve fitted dress.

Her fun alphabet dress was teamed with a red D&G cross-body bag and red D&G pumps, which weren’t a patch on her bright red hair.

Oversized hooped earrings completed her look.

Unfortunately, have to agree with the other comments this dress is JUST unflattering on Katie B. The only exception is her shoes – good colour.

It would have looked a lot better if the dress stopped just below her knees or at her knees….a tight dress around the calves looks awful!

it makes her look as if she has a huge a**

What a completely unflattering dress. Not only are we dealing with a horizontal stripe pattern, but it’s words. NEVER wear words across curvy parts of your body because they will stretch out and make your clothes look too small. It’s like she snatched one of those banners off the back of a bigwheeler that says “Wide Load” and made an outfit from it. Then it stops mid calf and her shoes are matching the carpet. The effect just draws the attention right there and gives her the look of cankles.

I mean red carpet, haha. Still.

crossbody bags have no place on the runway

    Oy.
I love when a woman shows her curves, but this dress really should have ended above knee.
Other than that the colors are all wrong, and she looks quite messy.
Too bad, this look had an interesting potential.

The length is wrong and the horizontal stripes are making her hips look wide. This is an unfortunate look for her.

It makes her look fat and I don’t like the lenght + that bag = big no.

  11. Gigi September 6, 2011 at 19:50 #

Don’t like the length, but bravo to her for going horizontal…

I love her but she looks a mess.

That red bag is totally NOT working in this outfit. It’s just pointless.
