Emma Watson In McQ – 2011 GQ Men Of The Year Awards

Emma Watson arrived on the red carpet opting for a very different look at the 2011 GQ Men Of The Year Awards in London tonight.

The young actress channeled punk-chic wearing a McQ tartan wool puffball mini dress from the Fall 2011 collection.

This is a striking choice for Emma.

I’m glad she kept the look pretty by opting for Christian Louboutin Pigalle Spikes studded leather pumps instead of biker boots.

Her look was toughened up enough with the cropped biker jacket.

    Love everything about this look!

  2. Mark September 9, 2011 at 03:16 #

I think she has that look, the kind of look that can pull off any outfit. She could wear a care bear Onesie and make it look fashionable.

    • Liz September 9, 2011 at 18:01 #

Lol. I somewhat agree. Although some of her candid outfits are quite questionable.

This chick rarely looks happy. I’d love to see a genuine smile on her. That is the best red carpet accessory.

    • DP September 8, 2011 at 17:36 #

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. She looked miserable at the BAFTAs! I don’t like the outfit either though- dated and badly put together.

  4. ika September 8, 2011 at 05:08 #

    i love her, with McQ…

Not my favorite look from Emma

Emma is always going to be looking stunning no matter what she wears, always. her sense of fashion and style should be admired and praised no critised and judged.

She’s amazingly beautiful, she’s perfect. to all you people who think she looks like an emo — i hope you lot know she a fashion icon and her style and clothes are influenced by things she loves such as old movies and different genres. and what’s so wrong with looking like a teenager when your 21 ? doesn’t everyone want to look younger anyway ?! Emma is an incredibly intelligent, sexy person, she has a completely crazy peronality and we should be thanking god that she’s not one of those pretty girls withno brains and no personality and lots of money. i think daniel and rupert would agree.

This makes her look a bit heavy, the jacket could stand to be more fitted.

  9. robbie September 7, 2011 at 12:10 #

trying too hard to be edgy. so bored of people pairing pretty dresses with leather jackets.

ever since she got her hair cut her wardrobe has been tragic.

  10. Raquel September 7, 2011 at 05:57 #

I honestly like this. Maybe the jacket could have been a tad bit more fitted, but I find it adorable, chic and event apppropriated. It’s cute and suits her.

  11. Giuseppi Giraffe September 7, 2011 at 04:12 #

i love the shape of this outfit
this is just cute, very fresh, she can do no wrong

  12. Vidhya September 7, 2011 at 03:51 #

She could have lost the jacket.. the dress is pretty complete in itself.. the jacket is the one making the skirt look too weird .. its a pouf skirt.. of course its full, u guys..

  13. rebecca o September 7, 2011 at 03:00 #

This is cute. It’s nice to see her looking her age.

  14. Shelby September 7, 2011 at 01:50 #

Proportions are all wrong. Jacket could have been a shrug instead.

  15. D September 7, 2011 at 00:04 #

    she looks 15 again…

    • Elizabeth September 7, 2011 at 02:21 #

I agree completely, she looks like a teenager!

On another note, I appreciate the idea behind cutting her hair short, but it is not a look for every woman, and Emma does not carry it off particularly well. While she has looked very beautiful at times since chopping off her hair, I really think she should let it grow out again.

      • CreoleLady September 7, 2011 at 10:49 #

Completely agree with you about the hair.

  16. Fede September 6, 2011 at 23:36 #

I love Emma style and I think this is perfect on her!

  17. mol September 6, 2011 at 23:22 #

If the leather jacket had been shorter and more tapered in I would have loved it – but she looks a little boxy otherwise. Still, I think the overall vibe really suits her right now, specially with that short crop – yeh, cute!

  18. Hannah September 6, 2011 at 22:55 #

I sincerely, sincerely dislike this outfit. It reminds me of the late nineties/ early noughties when it was cool for children and teens to wear thsi kind of desperate punk thing. It jsu tlooks so cheap, try-hard and dated.

  19. Kaz September 6, 2011 at 22:53 #

    My kingdom for some lipstick!

  20. Anna September 6, 2011 at 22:22 #

    Looks gorgeous!

  21. leah September 6, 2011 at 22:14 #

The dress is too full for my liking, would have looked a lot better if it was an a-line dress rather than having a full skirt. Its too much imo, love the leather jacket & black pumps though.

    • Jen September 6, 2011 at 22:49 #

My thoughts exactly – if the skirt were only slightly less full I’d love it.

  22. Marie September 6, 2011 at 21:55 #

I’m sorry but isn’t she supposed to be a fashion icon. I haven’t been impressed by her since last year. She seems to be like all the others, wearing mostly black and always wearing pumps.

    • Lauren September 6, 2011 at 22:25 #

I don’t understand where the mostly black comes from. I’ve just looked over all of her past appearances on the red carpet and t.v. shows and out of 10 she only seems to have work a lot of black in 2 appearances… this and at the Deathly Hallows Part 2 photocall :/

I think she looks great! Its definitely a different look and I know a lot of people might think it’s more suited to a teenager but I think Emma looks young enough to pull it off 🙂

  23. Emma September 6, 2011 at 21:48 #

i absolutely love this look. its cute but i think she still looks her age.

  24. Ann September 6, 2011 at 21:29 #

Finally something different and unexpected from Emma! Really like it.

  25. avika September 6, 2011 at 21:23 #

perfect dress for 15 years old girl… oh wait… shes 21…

  26. samaira September 6, 2011 at 21:22 #

    I Love this.. its adorable.

  27. Hermione Weasley September 6, 2011 at 21:12 #

I absolutely adore this look. I’m usually not a big fan of her style, but this perfect. The shoes are to die for!

    • maria September 6, 2011 at 22:16 #

i totally agree. It’s really cute and also works well with her haircut. i think she is the right age for carrying off looks like this.

    • justme September 6, 2011 at 23:05 #

lol my thoughts exactly. I know an outfit is bad when it makes me want to sing Avril Lavigne’s Sk8ter Boi.

    • Alina September 7, 2011 at 05:41 #

      I agree.
