Jessica Chastain was the recipient of the ‘Outstanding Artistic Achievement Award’ at the 2011 Gucci Award For Women In Cinema event held at Hotel Cipriani in Venice on Friday.
The gorgeous actress, who was presented her award by Madonna, chose this Gucci Resort 2012 black georgette satin gown with a black and gold floral embroidered detail on the shoulder.
The gown is also cinched in at the waist with a leather-trimmed belt.
Jessica, who has had a phenomenal run during Venice Film Festival, added a pair of black satin heels with gold trim and flower detail and diamond earrings to her look.
She wore her hair in an up-do and donned coral blush and light pink lipstick.
Another perfect look from Jessica.
Bvlgari jewels completed her look.

Stunning! Finally an actress named Jessica who has both style and substance! I have great hope for her. She seems to be on the same path to fame as Naomi Watts, for they don’t have a toothy cheerleader face and (thanks to their acting chops) cast in these grave dramatic roles. But see how far Watts has come. I hope a strong body of work will open more doors for Jessica so she’ll look prettier and prettier on the red carpet as well as on the sidewalk.
Love the dress and love the dress on Jessica, but does anyone else think she looks much older than her last appearance in the Elie Saab gown?
the dress is perfect on her, but her eye makeup is really heavy. It makes her look very hard.
gorgeous look for her! I think her hair & make-up coloring are perfectly complementing the gold floral detail.
Dramatic and gorgeous.
Gorgeous!
Gorgeous look, did they all wear black at this event?
no….more to come that weren’t black.
Really stunning–she has come a long way from Cannes
Beautiful, the addition of the belt was a great idea.
This is stunning. I always find it a bit difficult to love ehr in some of her picks, but not this time. She makes blakc not boring, in fact it really suits her, and the gold works perfectly too. Her hair and makeup especially are flawless and tie the whole look together. She is truly radiant.
Who is this woman?
what has she done to deserve this award?
on the other hand she looks elegant.
She’s the superstar of this year. I think she’s in 4 films which will come out in 2011 and which have a chance to be nominated for an Oscar.
I love this dress. It’s perfect. BDOTW for me.
Ok. I officially have a new girl crush! Especially after seeing The Help this weekend.
Whoever did her makeup hates her. The dress bores me.
I love this dress! So elegant. This is the kind of black gown I like! The kind that looks simply, luxurious with just a little touch of something extra.
I still have yet to see one of the zillion films she’s made this year. But I hear good things and she seems to have a good stylist.
