Marisa Tomei In Erdem – “W.E.” Venice Film Festival Premiere

Many of you have said that Kate Winslet’s Victoria Beckham dress is too daytime for the Venice Film Festival this evening.

I’ll take Kate Winslet in VB and raise you Marisa Tomei in Erdem.

This is the very definition of a daytime dress.

I love Marisa and a love Erdem’s modern prints, but this is a Photocall, Letterman type of dress.

On the plus side her ruby pumps are perfection.

I really like this. OK, it’s not exactly red carpet worthy, but the dress is gorgeous, the hair is divine and the shoes are perfection!

Wow, I hope this doesn’t become a trend for premieres – a pretty enough dress but a major let down. Maybe some of the ‘stars’ are feeling they don’t want to feed our RC fantasies anymore – boo to that idea I say!

This reminds me so Very very much of Julia Roberts, particularly the Dries Van Noten dress she wore on the Eat Pray Love (forgive me if I am wrong) promo tour. She always dresses down like this. I am so disappointed because Marisa is always the one who brings such a fun and shock factor to the red carpet.

And it doesn’t translate very well under the lights and flashes of the red carpet, the dress looks grey and washed out…
