Red Carpet Fashion Awards

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited The Summerfield Community Centre in Birmingham, England today to show their support to the victims of the senseless riots which swept through the country last week.

Catherine continues to favour the military inspired looks from the Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2011 collection.

On this occasion she wore an Alexander McQueen military silk-georgette blouse with navy trims, a stand collar, gold button-fastening epaulets and military-style frogging at front.

The blouse was paired with a navy Alexander McQueen wool-crepe skirt which has gold anchor-embossed button embellishments and shorter front slits.

Her relaxed sophisticated look is event appropriate whilst still being very stylish.

I’m glad she’s found the right balance despite this being yet another head-to-toe (almost) navy look.

After arriving to the MTV Studios in New York City yesterday wearing Louis Vuitton, Lady GaGa changed when she made her guest appearance on MTV News.

She was on the show to promote her new music video, ‘You And I.’

GaGa wore a white lace Tom Ford Fall 2011 dress with sculptured hips.

You may remember that Emma Stone recently wore the black version of this dress to the “Crazy, Stupid, Love” World Premiere sans sleeves.

I love that GaGa kept the sleeves, because of the way she accessorized the look with pearls and gold brooch which gave her modern look a vintage vibe.

The only thing that doesn’t work for me is the heavy black tights despite the black ribbon accent.

Lady GaGa will be opening the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards which will be held at the Nokia Theatre in LA on Sunday, August 28.

Viewers in the UK can catch the show on Monday, August 29th at 9pm.

Lady GaGa was mobbed by fans in New York City yesterday as she made her way to the MTV studios.

The singer strutted down the streets of Manhattan wearing trademark sky-high platform heels and a white tulle fan hat which she teamed with a Louis Vuitton Fall 2011 ensemble.

The look included a black ¾ sleeve white bibbed top with a nipped in waist which she paired with hot pants and tights.

This is the second look Lady GaGa has worn from this collection.

I wasn’t crazy about the first look, but this one is more about having a lot of fun with fashion so me likey.

This week I met a very talented designer Adjoa Osei who showcased her capsule collection, Adapt.

The effortlessly chic array of hand finished jersey vests, loose fitting tops and bright maxi skirts are all emboldened with a signature woven West African print detail.

The key focus of the both the collection and the brand is to enhance everyday pieces with African print, creating an ‘experimentally classic’ look for women who appreciate well placed accents of colour and details without compromising on their simple, clean lined staples.

Adjoa Osei is not about seasonality, trend or shock factor but about intertwining signature print detail into the fabric of every day silhouettes making it accessible to everyone.

The designer creates timeless, wearable pieces so you won’t find any clichéd tributes to ‘tribal’ inspired clothing here.

This collection was launched in July and is available now.

Gemma Arterton chose this strapless black Lanvin jumpsuit to wear to the “Tamara Drewe” 2010 Toronto Film Festival Premiere back in September 2010.

The British actress went for a minimalist look, wearing barely any makeup and accessorizing with simple black pumps and a feathered clutch.

A simple ponytail completed her look.

Sandra Bullock wore the same jumpsuit to attend the premiere of “The Change-Up” last month.

The actress looked incredibly chic, pairing the jumpsuit with black strappy heels, intricate gold bracelets and hooped earrings.

She wore her hair down in sleek, loose waves and finished her look with soft pink lipstick.

The fit of the jumpsuit is off on Gemma, especially around the legs and she definitely needs more exciting accessories to brighten up her look, so my vote is going to Sandra.

Emily Montague attended the LA Premiere of her new movie, “Fright Night” at the Arclight Hollywood yesterday.

The young actress who has been dubbed the newest ‘rising star’ appears in the remake of this movie alongside Colin Farrell, Toni Collette, David Tennant and Dave Franco.

You may recognize Emily from her guest appearances on ‘Days of Our Lives’, ‘Melrose Place’ and most recently ‘Rules of Engagement.’

Emily dazzled on the red carpet wearing an Alice + Olivia ‘Fleur’ dress.

Her striped racer back dress has sequinned and beaded stripe accents plus a scoop neckline.

This perfect summer’s evening dress was paired with Aldo ‘Bremseth’ pumps and a pewter Judith Leiber clutch.

A simple ponytail perfected her look.
