Katy Perry wore another Couture look during the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards last night.
The singer donned a Christian Dior Fall 2011 Couture ensemble which included a pastel pink top with a huge yellow button a mint green lining, which she paired with a black and white tulip shaped skirt with a broken glass print.
This collection was a huge departure from the Parisian elegance with flirtatious charm which was presented under John Galliano.
We all wondered who Christian Dior’s customer would be, as the collection was quite comical in parts. Then it made sense last night – Katy Perry.
This look which included a square yellow Stephen Jones hat was perfect for her.
I love how she went one step further by adding multi-coloured Giuseppe Zanotti wedges to her look.
Her pink hair also worked really well on this occasion.

Perfect outfit, included the shoes, so cute, for the event and for Katy, but for the real life it’s quite ugly, most of all the top.
Perfect look for her.
She’s the perfect person to wear a look from this collection. So glad she wore the Treacy hat – the millinery in this collection was central to the looks, rather than secondary. I also love the shoe choice. BDOTW
This look is perfect for Katy, she wore it really good, and her shoe choice was perfect to match the rest of her ensemble. Perfect from head to toe.
Katy is my best dressed at this event, all of her outfits were fun and interesting and colorful unlike (almost) all the others!
this is a BDOTW look for sure
my problem with the dior collection is that not all the looks were similar to this, i actually loved this part of the presentation, but the so called eclecticism of the collection was horrifying! but i’m glad that we saw the more fun part on a celebrity
I love Katy Perry, she’s always such fun on the red carpet.
katy perry wearing this look underscores just how costume-y the last dior couture collection came across….
This collection was a disaster, and so was this look.
This just reminds me how awful that collection was.
+1
She looks really cute–in Wisconsin they would call that hat a cheesehead hat.
She looks ridiculous. I like her shoes and the pink hair. Everything else, especially combined, is horrible.
The collection was awful on the runway, awful awful, and looks even cheaper adn more poorly constructed on Katy. It’s just so overtly juvenile it is almsot painful. Even a dress or jsut the pasties from LiLo’s ungaro collection could have beaten this, which is no mean feat.
And here we were trashing Lilo.. X(
agree.
Come back John all is forgiven!
Dreadful collection.
You think this looks good? Are you kidding me, she’s wearing a yellow CUBE on her head!!!
i love katy but i just really cannot stop imagining Dior`s horrendous couture collection
Seriously if I had no knowledge of these pieces being Dior Couture pieces I would’ve assumed this was the dirty work of Jeremy Scott (that’s how awful that particular Dior Couture collection was).
It’s a pretty horrible ensemble to begin with but at least the fit works on the model. The fit on Katy is just wrong. The skirt is too open at the bottom compared to the runway look and the jacket doesn’t give Katy any shape at all (and Katy has a fabulous body to show off). She should’ve stuck with Versace and chosen one of the fun dresses from their SS/11 collection.
when i first time saw his collection i thought “it screams katy perry” it looks so good on her
this collection was horrific. HORRIFIC. and she looks ridiculous
