Zoe Saldana finally kick started her promotional tour for her new movie, “Colombiana” last night by attending a screening at Regal South Beach in Miami, Florida.
She wore a Balmain Resort 2012 dress.
You guys know how much I love Zoe, but I’m shocked to say that I don’t like this look.
This gold embroidered dress is so much better without the white train.
The train takes the dress from Paris to Las Vegas in a nano second.
I’m also not loving the black shoes with a gold and white dress. That’s almost harder to take than the dress itself.
I love you Zoe, but say this ain’t so.
On the plus side her hair and make-up are flawless and the embroidered details on the dress are exquisite.

Arrrrrgh take away the train and add strappy gold sandals and this would have been BDOTW for sure!!!!
+1,what possesed her to add that train is beyond me,and usually she is spot on in shoe dep,so what happend here ?!
+2
Agreed! I prefer the dress without the train but I don’t mind her shoes being black sandals (I just wish they were different ones!). I think a belt is also needed but probably not the one on the model. I really want to like this but nope… poo.
I feel the same. I really wanted to like it too
i agree with you on everything
it took me a while to decide that i really hate this look!
Somehow she pulls the train off for mr! The shoes are bad, but it’s more about the shape, I hate cage straps in every possible color
i hate to see breast plate on women. Zoe nor the model are working this dress. She looks very show girl or as if she is dressed for carnival. I am sure she will do better at the next screening.
I prefer the dress on the model.
Nooooooo Zoe, not a mullet dress!!!
Oh, this is so sad, because the gold pattern looks amazing on her.
Evil mullet dresses.
Zoe could have totally nailed this if she had appeared same as the model…..bah, too bad!
Agree. Perhaps different shoes from the model (not black!) if she wanted to change up. Such an unnecessary miss.
oh that train is just tragic! makes me think of a drag queen show!
I don’t know, I kind of like the train. Probably more suitable to a music awards night but she is still totally pulling it off.
i agree. For me the shoes are the worst offenders. I think it would have pulled the look together if she would have worn some gold/white/beige sandals.
I kinda get the idea of the train, and what Balmain and her was expecting, but it wasn’t ejecuted well… She still looks great though! But nothing ZOExtraordinary.
what with the train!!!!???? what was she thinking??
That train is horrible she should have worn the look the way it was presented. Love the hair and makeup
I love this look so much except the shoes.
I hate mullet dresses and I’m not generally a Balmain fan, so I have no idea what it is but this look is knocking me out. I think she looks absolutely incredible.
the train is horrible, but the shoes bother me even more! What did she think adding black cage sandals to a gold dress like this?
A bit OTT, and wrong shoes, definitely.
Really? I have to admit I love it! It would probably be better without the white train, yes, but I just love the dress SO MUCH that I love it even with the train. The shoes are not good though.
That dress is a work of art, and I’m fine with the shoes – on her, and with her slimness, they work. However, I agree about the train. My dad would call that ‘gilding the lily’ – completely unneeded addition.
I feel like I should be ashamed for thinking this, but I prefer the dress with the train. I’d totally put this up for BDOTW…
Looks like I have Zoe Saldana on my side though, so perhaps I’m in good company after all
At first glance, I really liked it because her confidence just shines through. But now that I analyze it, the train should’ve been off and the shoe choice had to be better.
May the gods of fashion strike me down, but I actually really like the dress – train and all. Different shoes needed, though. A really delicate gold sandal would have worked so well!
Yep, I couldn’t agree more about the white train. I can only imagine how glorious it would have been without it and a different pair of shoes!
how did she think that the one with the train looked better than the runway version?
Oh Zoe no no no…the train is terrible and the shoes too. Ruined a perfectly good look here.
I love this. Zoe looks fab!!!!!!!!!! BDOTW
Maybe she tore a seam in the back of her dress… and broke a heel off of her perfect gold sandals…
I dunno- this would have been really nice without those two things.
HORRID.
With the train she looks kind of overdressed.
It’s really too bad – she’s perfection from the waist up with gorgeous hair and make-up. I even love the cute star-shaped ear studs! Waist down, thumbs down!
i loved that she was bold enough to add the train and that totally takes the look to the next level. for me, it wouldve been boring without the train. tho im not a fan of the shoes…
He he it looks like her sheet got caught stuck on her dress..bar the white trail and sandals as you said, its fab
