Helen Mirren was bubbly and effervescent as always on the red carpet at “The Debt” New York Screening last night which was held at the Tribeca Grand Hotel.
The British actress continues to prove that age ain’t nothing as she looked sensational wearing a Michael Kors twisted jersey dress.
Her red modern classic long sleeve dress with a pleat detail on shoulder and a ruched knot at draped front was accented with gold embellished brooches.
These simple additions add a lot to the overall feel of the look. The dress may have been quite plain without them.
With a beautiful blown-out hairstyle Helen completed her look with snake-skin strappy sandals.

I hate the sandals though. I have a thing about open toes on ladies of a certain age. Some closed toe slings or courts would have been much more elegant.
I agree. That’s the only thing I dislike about this look are the sandals. Everything else is beautiful. Love the brooches.

When does she not look fabulous? She’s the only older actress who frequently ends up on the best dressed lists with younger ones.

We all know The Queen can do no wrong on the red carpet, even if she’s committing a huge faus pas with the sandals & stockings. I’m more inclined to give her a pass because ladies of a certain age with any degree of modicum are going to wear tights. She wanted to show off her pedi…yep, I’m going to let her slide on that account.

She def. gets a pass from me. In fact, wearing nylons and sandals shouldn`t be even considered a faux pas at a certain age, sometimes ladies simply must. The sandals work very well with the dress, love the addition of the brooches- they break up what could`ve been an overwhelming redness. Very nice.
On the side note, if you look at the current trends, you`ll see plenty of sandals worn with the black tights on the runway lately.
