Vera Farmiga was spotted heading back to her hotel in New York City yesterday after a day of promoting her new movie, “Higher Ground.”
She wore a Bottega Veneta lace abstract dress and printed cardigan from the Fall 2011 collection with gold strappy sandals.
The yellow crepe dress has an espresso sheer lace-paneled overlay and a frayed neckline. Her cardigan also has the same abstract print.
Vera opted out of wearing the orange obi belt replacing it with a much simpler black ribbon tied to the waist.
I loved the extra kick the orange belt gave to this look.
I don’t dislike the look, but I believe it could’ve been so much better as the shoes seem overly fussy.

I agree on both counts – what a gorgeous look on the model, though! I think this is utterly wearable.
I actually like the shoes. I think they complement the dress very well.
I like the shoes but with lacklustre hair, tired expression too large a bag and sans orange belt this looks rather pedestrian, like something from Marks and Spencers (UK high street store) rather than the fabulous outfit shown on the runway.
i agree. the belt is definitely missing.
I think the shoes work perfectly with the outfit. Also, I may be in the minority, I love the whole look. Unexpected for her but a great look
I miss the belt too, don’t love the shoes
I like her shoes but miss the belt desperately.
Oh, this is really abstract, topped with the overly fussy shoes (agree), makes me dizzy. Agree about the orange belt (and would also add a necklace) – to break up this overwhelming abstractness of the outfit.
