The LA Premiere for “Our Idiot Brother” took place at the ArcLight Cinemas with Zooey Deschanel wearing a monochromatic look on the red carpet.
She boldly wore a Moschino two-tone dress from the Fall 2011 collection.
Her Moschino dress has a large oversized collar and ruffled detail at the waist.
According Net-A-Porter.com the collar is detachable, so kudos to Zooey for not taking the easy option.
Zooey’s typically quirky look was paired with black suede YSL Trib Too’s and a black clutch.
I love how she styled her hair into a wavy side swept bun.

nice dress but those shoes are so utterly boring.
Zooey looks so cute but that neck ruffle seems to have a life of its own, especially at the back….
i love this look on zooey! although it’s a fall look i know that if zooey had worn it in winter she would have worn it with tights, so i’m thanking god it’s worn at this time of year

I love this and the fact that she is getting more adventurous and developing her style…however. I agree that her bottom lashes look kinda creepy and it detracts from what is otherwise gorgeous make-up. And it seems she has turned the skirt so that the cascading ruffle and slit are in the front and I find that distracting from the peplum. Makes this very chic dress too fussy. But she is taking chances and I applaud that and forgive the shoes.
i totally agree about her turning the dress around. The peplum does not look nearly as nice as on the model, which is a shame, as i like the dress. On Zooey in becomes to fussy.
I love it! I’m also loving that she hasn’t worn thights in like, a long time! This is serious improvement since I can’t remember seeing a photo of her on red carpets without thights before this year.
I’m glad that the dress is black and white because if it had been colourful , she would have looked like a clown.
She’s never looked so stylish. Hope this is the start of something…those tights retired a short while ago, now hopefully the ugly, unflattering dresses will too and she’ll continue picking nicer pieces like this.

I love this! I never thought I would say that about Zooey but I really do. I wish she would’ve used a sparkley clutch instead but I can over look that because I love her outfit so much!
I think it’s pretty awful, actually. The black and white really works well for her, and her hair and makeup are great. But the dress is a joke.

Looks like I`m in a minority here, do not like her styling, def. prefer the model`s (love the gloves with this dress esp.) – it`s an edgy dress, and if she chose to keep the very edgy collar she should`ve kept the edgy styling. Hers is too plain and boring for this dress, and the hair is all wrong – should`ve been neatly pulled backed (see the model), no waves of any kind with this large elaborate collar.
