Jessica Chastain took to the red carpet on Tuesday night for “The Help” LA Premiere.
She was radiant wearing an Oscar de la Renta Fall 2011 gown.
Her plum crinkle silk chiffon strapless sweetheart neckline gown was paired with a stunning pair of turquoise earrings.
This trend of pairing plum gowns with turquoise earrings continues to be a winning combination.
We first saw it on Cameron Diaz on the red carpet at the 2007 Costume Institute Gala and most recently on Sofia Vergara at the Smurfs World Premiere.
Blown out red locks, Jimmy Choo ‘Sierra’ platform sandals and pink matte lips completed her look.

Stunning !
Didn”t Blake do that combination (plum+turquoise) all the way in January and again at the Elle awards in March? I remember the commentariat complaining about it… but then again it’s Blake, complaints are nothing out of the ordinary.
The dress in combination with the aqua earrings is gorgeous.
Her hair seems bleached out and needs a change though.
Hair make up earrings stunning, co our of dress, perfect, design of dress, no likey!
She looks gorgeous and I love her hair but the dress makes her look wider than she is, I would prefer it to be more fitted like the model’s.
The shape of the dress does little for her and it’s too long, but the colour of it against her skin is beautiful.
I agree.
you put your finger right on it. The proportions of the dress don’t work for her and make her look dumpy–which she isn’t
When I saw Sofia Vergara wearing that colour combination, she didn’t remind me of Cameron Diaz, but Jessica Chastain’s look instantly managed that. Despite the deja vu, she looks very pretty.
I love the color combination, but aside from that, the dress is doing her no favors.
The cut is all wrong for her but despite that I love the color combo, looks so glam.
She looks lovely, but the picure makes her no justice. Love the color combination and her subtle make up.
Sarah Jessica Parker wore a plum YSL dress with turquoise earrings way back in 2003. I can’t remember the magazine but when Cameron wore the Dior, the magazine put SJP’s YSL look and turquoise jewelry as being “inspiration”.

Cameron was after…thanks for the pic x
Oh what I meant was that SJP was the inspiration to Cameron’s Met look. And you’re welcome
oh I see…thanks
hard not to instantly think Cameron Diaz. just like black w emeralds, one thinks Jolie right away. and i think the dress is too gowny for a daytime film premiere.
It’s rare to see anything genuinely new on the RC, and I continue to love the turquoise-plum combination. I like the make-up here, but co-sign with all the comments above about the questionable fit/style of the dress.
I noticed that US Magazine linked to this blog post – though it seems that they misquoted/misunderstood what you were saying :S Though looking at the source, that doesn’t surprise me!

Yes I saw that too
