Last night, I attended Rebecca Minkoff’s Shop in Shop/Summer Cocktails event at LA’s hip clothing store Confederacy.
Co-hosts Rebecca Minkoff and Agyness Deyn mingled with guests who browsed the newest collection of bags, shoes, clothes and accessories whilst sipping on yummy Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Rosé drinks.
In attendance were some of Young Hollywood’s finest, including Lauren Conrad, Shenae Grimes, Katie Cassidy, Jayma Mays and Busy Philips. Ashton Kutcher, Giovanni Ribisi and Chris Pine rounded out the men who came out to support their friend Danny Masterson, who co-owns Confederacy.
Rebecca’s cool collection of bags run the gamut from mini studded clutches in traffic light red and turquoise blue to cross-body bags in bright orange and stone grey featuring zippers and oversized tassels. I fell in love with her iPad and laptop cases, especially a turquoise one reading ‘nerd alert’ in fun gold writing.
Although Rebecca is primarily known for her gorgeous bags, guests got the chance to browse through her beautiful summery collection of clothing. Stand outs included silk shorts with a cute triangle cutout in the back in red and purple, a sleeveless leopard print blouse, mini floral dresses and prim strapless dresses in bright pink with peplum detailing at the waist.
The bold colours were a huge draw with the celebrities who made a beeline to the pink, purple and red pieces. It’s a sign that the colour-blocking trend will continue to be huge.
Rebecca’s shoe collection had everyone coveting the seriously hip sandals, wedges and heels in two-tone prints and fabrics. It was extremely hard to leave the store without purchasing one pair of flats in brown leather and pony skin fabric and a nude pair of wedges with a snakeskin print along the back.
Rebecca Minkoff has struck the balance between cool and pretty perfectly and if last night is any indication, her fun pieces are sure to be seen on some of the hottest celebrities over the summer.
Celebrity interviews to follow.
