Lauren Laverne was at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden, London today to announce the Barclaycard Mercury Prize ’2011 Albums of the Year’.
She did so wearing a Topshop leopard print dress.
The dress was paired with a black studded leather belt, tights and black suede ankle boots with a spiked detailed heel.
This is pretty much how everyone is dressing in London at the moment. Tights and all because our summer (more like autumn) sucks big time.
Despite this look being weather appropriate, it’s also a fun look which she accessorized perfectly.
The twelve albums shortlisted for this year’s Barclaycard Mercury Prize are:
Adele – 21
Anna Calvi – Anna Calvi
Elbow – Build A Rocket Boys!
Everything Everything – Man Alive
Ghostpoet – Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam
Gwilym Simcock – Good Days At Schloss Elmau
James Blake – James Blake
Katy B – On A Mission
King Creosote & Jon Hopkins – Diamond Mine
Metronomy – The English Riviera
PJ Harvey – Let England Shake
Tinie Tempah – Disc-Overy

I love Lauren she comes across as so smart but a real girls’ girl at the same time and she looks lovely here..who would you like to win FC?I’d like to see James Blake take it he’s amazing!
I would say Adele, but it usually always goes to an underdog.
James Blake ftw! also Katy B is worth considering…
I’d like to see Metronomy take the prize as their album is so underrated. Lauren looks good here – sometimes a bit boring fashion wise but this is a win for her
Totes agree with this weather FC! I’m too scared to leave the house in case i get caught in a flash storm or something…
I made the mistake of leaving the house wearing sandals today.
It’s wellies from now on
eurgh i feel your pain!
you are not alone. Seattle has had the worst summer ever. The weatherman just announced that we have had 78mins of temperature of 80F
FC:
Are you British? i never knew! I discovered your blog about a month and a half ago and I LOVE it. I read it daily. Keep up the great work!

Yes I am. From London. A lot of people assume I am American as I use so many Americanism
The summer is just as bad here in Paris. I actually wore a trench coat today, I wanted to cry.
let’s pray for sunshine and a real summer
I wish I could start selling heat and humidity to those of you with no summer. If I can figure out a way to package it, I’ll let you know. While I would love this outfit in the fall, it’s hard to appreciate it right now.
It would be most welcome
I must admit, I was confused when I saw the tights/boots combo at first… Until I read all the comments. I live in Arizona, USA, where it’s been at least 107 degrees every day this week, and no lower than 98 most days since May. I would love to share the sunshine and warmth with you! Real summer for everyone!
We are having a very sad sad summer
