Maria Sharapova In Alexander McQueen – 2011 ESPY Awards

Brand Loyalty Award
Maria Sharapova continues favour Alexander McQueen on the red carpet.

She arrived at the 2011 ESPY Awards last night wearing a modified dress from the McQueen Pre-Fall 2011 collection.

The navy halter dress with feathered accents and gold embroidery details was teamed with an Alexander McQueen clutch and the most stunning pair of McQueen heels.

Whilst Maria isn’t selling this dress à la Blake Lively or Anna Paquin, those shoes more than make up for it.

Her heels = too awesome! :D

I can understand her love for all things McQueen, if I could I would only wear it.
    And those shoes are fantastic

I don’t care for the dress at all. That waist thing makes her look ‘thick’. The model in the longer length looks better, but she’s turned to the side too, and that is always a more flattering stance for photography. Thumbs down on this one from me….even the shoes don’t rescue it.

Thumbs DOWN from me as well, the shoes make no difference here. Maria is a Russkaya version of Blake Lively for me (she reminds me of her quite a bit appearancewise). There’s always something that cheapens the look. In this case (besides the hair) I think it’s the modifications done to the dress -somehow feathers don’t work with short neither does the halter style with Maria’s broad shoulders.
Plus, she looks very uncomfortable in those heels, standing very awkward.
It’s not a tennis match, you can wear long (and stand with grace). The runway version is gorgeous.

she looks amazing! i love love love those shoes!

  5. Jojo July 14, 2011 at 16:26 #

Her look is a little too matchy matchy the shoes the dress embellishments. smh

    • anna July 14, 2011 at 23:34 #

i prefer matchy matchy than a mix of odd colors together … not every mixture makes a good color blocking!

  6. Courteney July 14, 2011 at 16:41 #

Those shoes are to die for! Ahhh I love them!!

  7. Emma July 14, 2011 at 16:50 #

She looks good in the dress. But those shoes are GORGEOUS! Best shoes of the night!

  8. Christine July 14, 2011 at 16:53 #

I like everything minus the hair. Why didn’t she go all the way and opt for a glamorous up-do rather than framing her face with those messy strands?

  9. DivaMom July 14, 2011 at 16:55 #

Her feet look like they HOIT!!! LOL Damn!!!

  10. Fashion Interlude July 14, 2011 at 17:03 #

Who cares about any flaws she might have with regards to the dress, those legs are amazing! Give Jennifer Aniston a run for her money!

  11. allie July 14, 2011 at 17:08 #

    I love her shoes…

  12. guest July 14, 2011 at 17:09 #

my feet hurt from even looking at those shoes… ouch!

  13. f4fashion July 14, 2011 at 17:18 #

WAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW! Look at those shoes! Maria is workin’ the hell out of this outfit.

  14. Mick July 14, 2011 at 17:24 #

Amazing shoes! More than Emmanuelle Chiriqui’s
    I love the dress too

  15. Laura July 14, 2011 at 17:27 #

The modified length threw the proportions completely off. Do not love at all.

  16. Pal July 14, 2011 at 17:38 #

These shoes deserve BEST SHOES anyday!

  17. dee July 14, 2011 at 17:50 #

I like this better as a gown but the shoes are divine.

  18. anamika July 14, 2011 at 18:19 #

    100% dee
If I had those swimmers shoulders….wouldn’t wear that :)

  19. Emi July 14, 2011 at 18:33 #

Gorgeous shoes, the modified dress is tacky on her.

  20. justme July 14, 2011 at 19:16 #

I like the shoes but not with the dress. I don’t like the dress on Maria tbh.

  21. -N July 14, 2011 at 19:18 #

I WANT THOSE SHOES!!!!! … NO, I NEED THEM!! FAB <3

  22. Lady F July 14, 2011 at 19:25 #

Hair looks messy, shoulders are very broad, too much gold for me… I prefer her last McQueen look. But I agree – her shoes are to die for.

  23. serenissima July 14, 2011 at 19:58 #

i agree that the dress is meh while the shoes are killer… however, is it just me or do the shoes look a tad too small? her toes hanging over the edge are distracting

  24. Jones19 July 14, 2011 at 20:59 #

This dress isn’t doing her figure any favors, she looks boxy..I guess it’s hard to dress those shoulders.

  25. Rahel July 14, 2011 at 21:15 #

Horrible. She cut off the dress and destroyed its style.

  26. Hannah July 14, 2011 at 22:25 #

The accessorizing is perfection, and the colours are incredible wiht her colouring, jsut goes to show how bad posture, osing or attitude can mak eor kill a red carpet look.
I much prefered this on Coco Rocha at the Met Gala, even though i prefer Maria’s colouring with this dress, and her accessories.

  27. Sharon July 15, 2011 at 03:21 #

I don’t like the dress at all. The shoes look good, but I wonder how far she can actually walk in them. It looks as though they would be as comfortable as ballerina toe shoes.

  28. Valeria July 15, 2011 at 06:47 #

I love her shoulders and there is nothing wrong with them-she is tall and slender, I do t think dress makes er look boxy. The shoes seem to be very uncomfortable hence the non-selling posture. They are “sitting pretty” heels, gorgeous though:)

  29. kiwi July 15, 2011 at 08:32 #

I voted her best dressed coz of those shoes.. those shoes.. woweee

  30. Sophie July 15, 2011 at 23:03 #

This look is trashy. The shoes are beautiful but partnered with this dress she looks like a WAG/Hollyoaks actress.

  31. PamG July 16, 2011 at 02:34 #

The shoes are gorg, but why must the toes be hanging over? It’s my pet peeve to see these beautiful women in amazing shoes that are the wrong size!
