Emma Watson was spotted outside the Ed Sullivan Theater before appearing on the “Late Show With David Letterman.”
Emma wore black patent Christian Louboutin Coroclic wedges with her Balmain Fall 2011 dress. These chunky cork wedges don’t work with her embellished dress.
If she wore this look in the fall, I would have definitely suggested going with the beautiful runway boots.
However, since it’s mid-July a simple black or metallic sandal is her best option.
Shoes Emma Should Have Worn:
Gucci’s new Kinga studded platform sandals are the perfect black sandal. They let the dress shine and complement her embellished dress.
The metallic Jimmy Choo Lance sandals are my favourite choice for Emma. The golden colour and strappy design look so good with her outfit.
I think Emma could pull off these Manolo Blahnik’s Netochka navy satin open toe lace-up sandals perfectly, as the navy blue complements the hem of her dress.
Remember Whitney Port’s beautiful red Manolo’s? His designs are more traditional and they’re refreshing in a sea of chunky platforms.
Pierre Hardy’s metallic buckle Spring/Summer 2011 sandal is a fabulous shoe. I really love this colour paired with her skin tone.
These Christian Louboutin Bianca leather platform pumps are the safest choice. If Emma wanted to stick with a Louboutin, these pumps are a much better option than the cork wedges.

Manolo’s for me
Fun post! Definitely the Manolos.
I voted for the Pierre Hardy’s after my first impulse was to go with the Manolo’s. I think both would be fabulous!
I could play Shoe Swap all day long.
Ditto! lol
Fun post, FC! Like it … and if I was a celebrity (and female) would definitely hire you as my stylist. These are all gorgeous choices and your knowledge of the runway is second to none!
Gucci – def, would’ve been #1 choice if it’s not for that one sleeve – simple, elegant and would let the dress shine, agree.
Jimmy Choo, Manolo, Pierre Hardy – all too “strap busy” for this dress with already busy/elaborate embellishments and hem detail.
Louboutin’s pumps – perfectly safe and would’ve worked very well.
So, my choice – cut off the sleeve and wear Gucci.
I think the Gucci sandals would have looked perfect with this.
All your choices are great though.
I’m so sad that she chose these shoes. That’s one area Emma usually always nails is the shoes.
The Gucci’s for me because they’re beautiful and might distract from the ugly dress xD
Manolo’s all the way! The colour would have been perfect and I think the satin is more appropriate for day.
