After the Today show, Emma Watson headed to the Ed Sullivan Theater to appear on the “Late Show With David Letterman.”
At some point she changed out of her Prada dress which I love, into the Balmain Fall 2011 dress which I really dislike.
It has none of the charm of the previous look.
Apart from the mis-matched “Kate Middleton-esqe” Louboutin wedges, I really dislike the cut on the right-hand side.
This feels like a dress Kristen Stewart would wear, as she loves these edgy mini dresses.
It would work on Kristen, but it doesn’t work for me at all on Emma.
A Lorraine Schwartz ring completed her look.

Oh no!
The dress is so wrong on her on SO many levels and lets not even mention the heels. A fresh summery dress with sandals would have been MUCH preferred. Hope she can make it up for the NY Premiere
I love the dress. Hate the shoes she paired it with.
Ick. Just… ick.
agreed. don’t love, although i don’t think i would like this on KS either
the shoes are okay
If the dress had two normal long sleeves, it would have been really beautiful. And those wedges are way too heavy for such a dress, it looks like she’s wearing bricks or shoes boxes.
This dress kinda looks like the white Ellie Saab Stewart wore at the Eclipse premiere last year
Love this look!
It goes from bad to worse for Emma today…what is with those shoes?!?!
i much prefer the runway version
Yes, this is a fail. Really disappointing.
I like one sleeved looks normally, but I don’t like the missing sleeve look. Didn’t like it when KS wore it, don’t like it here.
I actually like the dress, had she worn open shoes with it
A less slick hairdo, more softer ‘do, would’ve made this look work and really great
the shoes ruin it.
from the ankles up i love it.
I like the dress but not how it fits her. And those shoes are just off-topic.
I wonder why Emma didn’t go for the runway version.
Although I don’t personally care for one-sleeved dresses, that one might have been kind of cute on her — with less clunky shoes, of course.
My thoughts when I saw this look,
1. Why? (shoes related)
2. Kristen Stewart ( I also think that it looks like something she would wear, if forced to get out of t-shirt/ jeans combo)
3. Runway version is much more interesting, I actually like it
I can’t imagine Kristen Stewart ever wearing this. I don’t think she’d be into sparkly.
I love the shoes, and I would love the dress if it came with other sleeve. That being said, I don’t like the dress and shoes combo.
uhm i like the dress hate the shoes and hair. I am praying for her to wear this Christopher Kane resort 2012 gown http://www.style.com/fashionshows/complete/slideshow/2012RST-CKANE?event=show2282&designer=design_house1164&trend=&iphoto=23#slide=29
The dress is nice, but maybe with the shoes she wore earlier it may have looked better… but why altering the dress?, the runway dress is so much better, and the shoes would have even matched.
But that face… stunning.
ankles up, i actually like this look, IF it was an evening event which wasn’t too fancy-schmancy. all that glittery detail is just lost on a daytime sidewalk shot. and of course, she needs some strappy heels… STAT!
i almost feel like the runway version would have been a better fit for her. she probably still wouldn’t have been able to work it, but she’d have had a better shot than with the version she chose.
OMG THE DEPRAVITY! WHO OK’ed THOSE SHOES?!?!? 10 points FROM Gryffindor.
no no no no no. The wedges just ruin this look in so many levels.
LOL that made me laugh
Just saw a clip from the Letterman interview and I actually really love the shoes with it now. It works somehow. I just don’t think it photographs well.
just watched Emma’s Letterman segment… the dress may not have worked in the photo as shown here, but it worked really well on TV under the studio lighting.
I prefer the runway version, the texture is amazing, her version doesn’t even seem a Balmain. Plus I hate those shoes, when wedges became “Middleton-esqe”?
nothing works
i actually enjoy this minidress on her — ever since that vogue cover, i’m obsessed with her in sparkles — but those wedges just step on the look too much. i love the unexpected nature of them, but how perfect would a pair of prada shoeboots have looked with this look?!
This, to me, is as frustrating as Blake Lively, because, like Blake Lively, it could have worked. Had there been no shoulder pad (shoulder pads should jsut die, imo), th ehem been super, scary short like on the runway, and areally, really sexy pair of heel swith this, such as anything by jimmy choo, especially the emily cutout booties, or those cutout sude alaia sandal booties, it would have been killer.
I love the dress and the styling, not sure yet about the shoes. I don’t dislike them as much as I should.
This looked great on Letterman. Fun and youthful. The girl is just gorgeous.
big no!
This is just bad…
Am I the only person who prefers this to the Prada…?
she looks so awkward, and those shoes! WHY? why does christian louboutin insist on making such heavy shoes.
I really like this, except for the shoes. I even it prefer it over the Bottega Veneta she wore (with better shoes). Also, the only way I could see KS in this dress in this dress is if it were modified to be more fitted.
Really? I absolutely love it. I would say the opposite. They don’t work on Kristen but they work on Emma for me
